Here are some of the go to techniques:
Get in whole brain integration position - start with this- pretzeling your arms and legs together
Box Breathing, inhale 4 count, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4
Figure 8 bilateral stimulation and follow your fingers with your eyes
Body Crossover diagonally across your chest
Pull Apart Technique across the head, face, and chest
Body Tapping at meridian points or all over
Body scan starting from the bottom of your feet
Vagal toning exercises like humming, massaging and pulling on ears, eye exercises
A high sensory experience that snaps you right back into your body, like smelling strong coffee or sticking your fingers in some grainy sugar or salt, or biting into a lemon.
Dance - end with this- to metabolise all that built up energy
When in fight or flight I’d suggest grabbing some ice and rubbing the back of your neck and your wrists or munching on it, but with freeze, I wouldn’t recommend it.
