Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Just as physical first aid is administered to an injured person before medical treatment can be obtained, MHFA is given until appropriate treatment is found or until the crisis is resolved.

Our lead facilitator, Sherry, and colleague Monica had the incredible opportunity to host a full-day Self-Care Stack session for the amazing team at KEYS—an organization doing vital work to help Canadians, including newcomers, find meaningful employment.

Their mission is powerful: offering free services to job seekers, employers, and newcomers, creating ripples of positive change. And at Broadmind, our focus is simple: helping the helpers.

We see you—the ones who pour into others but often forget to refuel yourselves. The ones who give so much but struggle to pause.

How often do we hide our true feelings—stress, anxiety, grief, or overwhelm—just to ‘keep it professional’?

Mental health stigma teaches us to cover up, to perform, and to pretend we’re okay when we’re not.

But what if workplaces encouraged us to show up as our truest selves?
