Broadmind Mental Health

Broadmind Mental Health We're mental health advocates that provides mental health first aid training. Let's break the stigma!

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Just as physical first aid is administered to an injured person before medical treatment can be obtained, MHFA is given until appropriate treatment is found or until the crisis is resolved.

What an incredible week at the CIMVHR Conference in Ottawa — surrounded by some of the smartest minds and biggest hearts in veteran and military mental health. 💚

These gatherings always remind me how much possibility lives at the intersection of research, compassion, and action.
It’s where we learn, plan, prepare, and create — new ideas, better programs, stronger systems.

Mental health and well-being are evolving, and so must we.
Those working in trauma-touched, high-stress, and essential roles — the people we need — deserve evidence-based care, solid policy, and accountability that keeps pace with real life.

The energy in that room said it all: We can do this, Canada. And we must.

At Broadmind, we carry this spirit forward — translating research into practical, trauma-aware training that helps helpers find relief, clarity, and strength again.

🌍 Big things happening in the world can feel heavy.
No matter your generation or life experience, we all feel those big things in our emotions, thoughts, and bodies.

Here are a few simple steps to bring yourself relief:

✨ Find healthy release – write about it, talk about it. Getting it out helps.
✨ Create safety in your body – hug yourself (yes, it works), or move in fun, random, safe ways like dancing.
✨ Reprogram your mind – remind yourself: We are doing the best we can.

You’re not alone in feeling the weight of the world. With small, steady practices, we can carry it together — and care for ourselves along the way. 💚

At Broadmind, we believe self-health-care isn’t about bubble baths or one-off fixes — it’s about creating real, sustainable ways to check in with yourself and know what you truly need so you can do the work you love. We need you.

That’s why we created the Self-Health-Care Check-In — and it’s completely free.
💚 Because burnout isn’t a badge of honour.
💚 Because helpers need help too.
💚 Because you deserve to feel well, not just get by.

"Balance is not something you find; it's something you create" – Jana Kingsford

Let's reframe our Monday mindset.

We often wear "busy" as a badge of honor, but true success and peace come from discernment.

Balance isn't about doing everything. It's about doing what matters.

This week, instead of trying to cram it all in, ask yourself:
➡️ What one thing will make the biggest impact?
➡️ What can I let go of without guilt?

Forget the pressure to do it all. This week, let's focus on what actually moves the needle. Your mental wellbeing will thank you.

What's your #1 priority this week? Let us know!

Tools for connection. Asking for help.
We can all use support on this.

Feeling burnout on a Monday doesn’t mean you’re a failure or weak.

It means you need rest.

Our bodies and emotions send us signals for a reason, but too often we ignore them, push through, and tell ourselves we “have to” keep going.

But that hustle-at-all-costs mentality has an expiration date.

You don’t have to wait until you’re completely drained to slow down.

Take the break before your body forces you to.

Rest isn’t a reward for being exhausted—it’s a requirement for staying well.

Give yourself permission to pause this week—and join us for an hour of connection, just for you.

The Self-Health-Care Check-In: A FREE 1-hour guided space to reflect, recharge, and build self-care habits that actually work—for your job, your life, and everything in between.

When: August 20, 2025 from 12-1PM EST
Where: https://free-webinar-august-20-2025.getresponsesite.com/

You’re the strong one.

The one who takes care of others.

The one who wears the mask—not just at work, but in life.

But living behind that mask, ignoring your own feelings, needs, and desires, slowly drains you.

It locks you into a role that isn’t you.

You don’t have to stay hidden.

Take off the mask. Breathe. Give yourself what you need.

Join us for a FREE 1-hour guided session—a safe space to connect, reflect, and build real self-care habits that work for you.

At work. At home. In every part of your life.

Because you deserve to thrive, not just survive.
