This past week has been a doozy! 27 massage therapy appointments has me back at full capacity for the first time since the pandemic started. The week before that I did 7 in home visits, loading and unloading my portable table each time.
I'm so truly grateful for all of your support and choosing me as your !

Taping is a lovely way to support yourself. While I'm not injured, I am a bit sore. Applying this tape for the next three days I have off will have me back to 100% by Wednesday (my Monday lol). Its a great form of self care and injury prevention.

Thanks to Whig Standard for featuring us! So glad to be back and to see all of your faces!

Hello everyone, just wanted to share a little PSA around mask wearing at this time.
There's alot of conflicting information out there about wearing masks, so I thought I would jump in with some relevant info.
I believe mask wearing is effective in decreasing the spread of illness. We see this with many Asian countries where people wear masks when they aren't feeling well and this is normal in their culture. Instead of wearing a mask to prevent themselves from getting the flu, they often wear one to protect others.

We know that in many illnesses (including the flu) there are asymptomatic carriers. These people have the flu but have minor or no symptoms, and often unintentionally spread it to others. By wearing a mask, even when you are feeling fine, it can have many benefits to protecting those around you.

Lastly don't hoard medical grade masks. You can easily hand sew (as pictured above) a mask that is effective enough for daily use. Or you can use other barriers like a scarf or bandana. There is a worldwide shortage in personal protective equipment for doctors and nurses, so by using your own mask you are helping them.

After one week of staying home (for most) how is everyone doing?

I've seen posts on cleaning, decluttering, creative projects, exercise, and more. All have been inspiring. Many of us feel like we have to be doing something, or are trying to distract ourselves from anxiety that way.

Remember that sleep is a powerful tool for healing and coping in these difficult times. Now more than ever allow yourself to rest without self judgement and restore your energy. When we rest we heal ourselves.

Hello everyone, I have some happy news for you!
As someone who has dealt with chronic anxiety, I wanted to reach out to those who may be feeling very anxious with the events in the world lately. For many people this anxiety will be new, or for others a whole new higher level of anxiety.
In this series I will be sharing techniques I have personally used to help manage my own anxiety for over a decade.
Because my job as a massage therapist is hands on I will be diving into practical tools using the five senses: touch, smell, taste, sound and sight. These management tools can help create rituals to help decrease your anxiety when used often and when you find out what works for you.
Stay tuned!

My Story

In 2013 I started my career as a Registered Massage Therapist and began my Doula certification. Since then I have had the opportunity to support so many amazing families on their journey through parenthood in many different ways. My passion is helping others, and my focus is in women's health and wellness. They say it takes a village to raise a child, but in my experience this village is important in all walks of life, including adulthood. My goal is to be a part of that community by providing education, one on one support, resources, practical tips, and regulated healthcare. I want you to know all of your options and feel confident in making the decisions that are best for you. In 2016 I was extremely blessed to re-open More to Life Massage Therapy with my business partner and mentor Jennifer Gargaro. Together we have a flourishing clinic that caters to the needs of families and moms to be. In addition to opening our clinic, I have also had the great experience of helping to organize and run the local annual Wise Woman Retreats at Elbow Lake. Bringing the community together has allowed me to learn so much and meet so many amazing people from Kingston and the surrounding area!

In 2018 I began my training to be a Certified Life Coach. It is my dream to help others in all aspects of their own wellness through life coaching. Working as a doula taught me that people need support during all aspects of their lives, not just birth. When we can achieve our goals and dreams we realize that anything is possible!

I have a lifelong passion for learning, and as a result have completed many certifications in order to provide my clients with the best support possible. These include; Upper and Lower Body Myoskeletal Alignment Specialist Training (Through Erik Dalton) Balancing the Pelvis with Muscle Energy Palliative Care for Regulated Health Care Workers Certification Care for the Child of a Complicated Birth StillBirthday Birth and Bereavement Certification Doula Training Canada Labour Doula Certification The Gena Kirby Rebozo Method for Birth Advanced Comfort Measures for Birth Bengkung Belly Binding Training
