Solving Our Problems with Love
Drop-in Buddhist Meditation Classes @ The Spire
Sundays in March, 10-11:15am

Love feels good, and we all know how beneficial it is. However, a loving heart isn’t always easy to maintain, especially when we are under stress or when people are making life difficult for us. With Buddhist nun and Resident Teacher Gen Chöyang.

These classes are suitable for both beginners and more experienced meditators. Classes are self-contained, so feel free to drop in at any point in the series. Everyone is welcome!

Classes are at Kuluta Buddhist Centre at The Spire (82 Sydenham St. inside the Sydenham St. United Church), Rm. 205, 2nd Floor, Kingston ON. Elevator available.

Half-Day Buddhist Meditation Retreat:
Healing Family Ties
Saturday, March 14th, 10am-12:30pm

Our relationships with family often contain deep love, as well as times of tension and conflict. Frequently, the underlying problem has to do with our unrealistic expectations of each other, which cloud our perceptions. Buddha’s teachings on attachment, love and patience help us to heal the painful experiences we have with our loved ones, and make it possible to begin to move forward. With Buddhist nun and Resident Teacher Gen Chöyang.

This retreat is suitable for both beginner and more experienced meditators. Everyone is welcome!

The retreat will take place at Kuluta Buddhist Centre at The Spire (82 Sydenham St. inside the Sydenham St. United Church), Rm. 205, 2nd Floor, Kingston ON. An elevator is available.

Transforming Anger and Conflict:
Buddhist Meditation Class @ The Spire

In situations of conflict, we tend to anger easily. We may even think that anger will help us to "win our battles," and we rely on it as if it were our trusted friend. The mind of anger, however, leaves a trail of broken relationships, lost opportunities, and painful feelings in its wake. Buddha’s illuminating and practical teachings on how to let go of anger can help us to avert conflict and develop a more constructive and life-affirming approach to our problems with others.

These classes are suitable for both beginners and more experienced meditators. Classes are self-contained, so feel free to drop in at any point in the series. Everyone is welcome!

Tonight! Feb 19th, 7-8:15pm
Buddhist Meditation: A Path to Positive Change
Drop-in Meditation Class

We need something reliable to turn to when we start to feel unhappy, depressed, or anxious. Many things can help us for a short while, but if we include some meditation in our life, we can gradually begin to control our unpleasant thoughts and emotions, regardless of the external circumstances.

Meditation is a “tried and true” pathway to both temporary and lasting happiness. In these classes, we will learn how this ancient technique not only reduces daily stress, but can transform our mind so that positive feelings become more frequent. With Buddhist nun and Resident Teacher Gen Chöyang.

These classes are suitable for both beginners and more experienced meditators. Classes are self-contained, so feel free to drop in at any point in the series. Everyone is welcome!
