Gwen shares:
“They support military personnel, veterans and their families and this is very important to me. I myself am a Cold War Navy veteran who will be 81 years young on August 16th.”

Gwen, your dedication and spirit inspire us all.

This week, we’re sending a huge THANK YOU to Pam, who recently hosted a charity golf tournament at Maple Ridge Golf Course in support of the military and Veteran community.
“I’m not an organization. I’m just a girl, running golf tournaments to spread awareness and raise support for causes that matter.”

Pam’s passion and drive are a powerful reminder that you don’t need a big team to make a big impact.

Thank you, Pam, for choosing to support True Patriot Love and for teeing up change, one tournament at a time.

Have a third-party fundraiser in support of True Patriot Love? We’d love to highlight you! Tag us or reach out.

🫶 From deployments to debriefs, walking together has always meant more than just steps taken.

Lieutenant-Colonel (Ret.) Michèle Roy, a military nursing officer and proud veteran, shares why she walks with us each year at the Canadian Walk for Veterans:

“As a retired military nursing officer, I feel privileged to have participated in the Canadian Walk for Veterans.

From basic training to various postings and deployments, ‘walking’ was an essential part of military life.

Walking as a group brings friendship, cohesion, and this is a chance to talk, to reminisce about our military lives, challenges and opportunities as veterans.

As a military nurse, my motto was:
‘No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.’

The Canadian Walk for Veterans is a tangible example of what caring for veterans is all about.”
— Michèle Roy, Lt Colonel (Ret.), Veteran

📚 Michèle first came across that quote in a book in her barrack in Petawawa, while on pre-deployment for Bosnia. The author remains unknown — but the message stayed with her for life.

👣 Marchons — ensemble.
