Pregnancy is essentially a stress test, such that what happens to you during pregnancy can identify you as having a greater chance of developing a health problem down the road. In November 2011 we started the Maternal Health Clinic at Kingston General Hospital. This clinic focuses on early cardiovascular disease screening and prevention. We are inviting new moms to come for a 6 month postpartum cl

inic assessment. We are particularly interested in reaching women who have had one of the following pregnancy complications:

- Pre-eclampsia, gestational hypertension, HELLP syndrome, eclampsia, high blood pressure
- Gestational diabetes or gestational impaired glucose tolerance
- Preterm birth for any reason
- Small baby (
