People often make the generalization that if you shared an experience together; from siblings to classmates to friends, that it was perceived and interpreted similarly. However, this is not the case. Everyone has an individual perspective that is processed uniquely. So indeed the experience was/is unique to every person. This is important to understanding you must learn a person's experience through inquiry and listening without judgment or preconceptions based on another's account. The differences can help you understand where misperceptions between people can occur and aid in fostering understanding by helping each learn the other's perspective. One common example can be recounting memories of life events between siblings. So, remember, next time you have a shared experience, don't forget to share your individual perception. You may have had a positive experience, but, did they??

Offer to provide guidance to seek help if they feel they've become stuck in their sadness. Remember, there is no timeline for grief. .

Forgiveness is an act of self-love. Repeat that to yourself; Forgiveness is an act of self-love. The act of forgiveness sets you free from any further pain being inflicted by the actions you were inflicted by, but DOES NOT excuse the behavior or invite them to a seat back in your life.
