The Queen's University Chapter of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement Open School is an interdisciplinary educational community that gives students the skills to become change agents in health care improvement. Many more thousand are subject to unnecessary pain, suffering, and helplessness. Do you have an interest in healthcare and want to have a stake in making it better? Then the Institute for Healthcare Improvement Queens University chapter (QIHI) wants you. The IHI is a global network of students from universities in over 57 countries from all disciplines who have an interest in making healthcare better. We are a community of students and professionals interested in creating a more efficient, effective and safe healthcare system that provides the best possible care for all patients and all those involved in healthcare. Our chapter provides students from all backgrounds the opportunity of becoming active leaders in improving the quality of care available within our community by giving students the skills and knowledge to become change agents in healthcare. We’re talking about skills like quality improvement, patient safety, teamwork, leadership, and patient-centered care. Employers are looking for these skills, and patients expect providers to have them. Health care touches everyone in our community, and the necessary improvements and solutions will come from the participation and effort of people from all disciplines.
