The PT Program at Queen’s is seeking your involvement!
The Physical Therapy program at Queen’s is undertaking a curriculum renewal process and we would like to engage representatives from our physical therapy community. In order to accomplish this, we plan to establish a, “PT Program Community Engagement Group”. This group will be consulted monthly between October 15th, 2021 and June 30th, 2022 to inform key decisions and get feedback on components of the new curriculum.

Roles and responsibilities of members
• To represent their own stakeholder group in providing input to the Physical Therapy Program Committee for decision making
• Participate in discussion on key issues facilitated by Physical Therapy Program faculty or staff
• Provide feedback and recommendations to the Physical Therapy Program Committee regarding curriculum renewal, admissions and program evaluation decisions

Reporting
The minutes from each “PT Program Community Engagement Group” meeting will be provided back to the Physical Therapy Program to inform decision making related to curriculum renewal.

Composition
The “PT Program Community Engagement Group” will be composed of the following:
- At least two faculty members of the Physical Therapy Program appointed by the Physical Therapy Program Committee, one of whom will serve as Chair of the Committee.
- At least two active Physical Therapy students
- At least two recent graduates (within their first 3 years of practice)
- At least one academic assistant
- At least two clinical instructors
- At least two patients or clients
- At least two employers representing public and private sectors
- Any other physiotherapist in our clinical community who wishes to add to the diversity of voices and perspectives
Amongst the membership as a whole, we are seeking to ensure a diversity of voices and perspectives are included. We will consider diversity across multiple dimensions, including: physiotherapy practice types, personal characteristics, and ideas for the future of physiotherapy education. "Physiotherapy practice types" include aspects such as practice setting and the types of patient care provided. "Personal characteristics" include, but are not limited to: race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, and disability.

Meetings
We anticipate scheduling 8 meetings between October 15th, 2021 and June 30th, 2022. The chair of the committee will set the agenda. Additional items may be accepted from members during meetings by consensus. The Physical Therapy Program Assistant or their delegate will be responsible for recording and circulating minutes and the agenda to all members of the committee. Group members are expected to be present for at least six of the meetings. All efforts will be made to schedule meetings at times that work for the committee.

To apply, please submit an expression of interest (maximum one page) and a current resume or curriculum vitae to Jordan Miller, Associate Director (Physical Therapy) at Jordan.miller@queensu.ca by 4pm on October 6th, 2021.
