Meet Harry Hughes, BKin, RMT, MScPT
“My physiotherapy journey started during adolescence; being actively involved in sports led me to seek physiotherapy for my own injuries. This is where my fascination for the profession and the body's ability to recover began.
This interest led me to pursue an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Brock University (c’mon Badgers!). During my studies I volunteered in a variety of programs, from “senior fit” where I tailored exercise programs for adults aged 65+, as well as “power cord” in which I played a role in building and leading clients with spinal cord injuries through continuous rehab regimes, and finally as a student strength and conditioning coach where I worked with the men’s Varsity Hockey and Basketball teams. These experiences further solidified my interest in rehabilitation, as I saw the benefits of specific rehab to improve quality of life as well as sport performance and injury prevention. This pushed me to pursue a Masters in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland where I further developed my clinical reasoning and skills in orthopaedics, elderly care, neuro-rehabilitation and musculoskeletal disorders.
Helping my clients attain their goals, improve quality of life and overcome challenges are outcomes I strive for in my practice. My practice includes the use of hands-on techniques, education, personalized exercise programs, and creating an environment to build clients’ confidence and motivation.
Outside of the clinic you can find me doing a variety of activities including: competitive rugby, weight training, skiing and hiking (…oh, and walking my dog, Enzo!).
I can’t wait to start this journey as your Physiotherapist at Frontenac Chiropractic and Sport Rehab.”
