Perinatal mental health in urban Indigenous women in Southeastern Ontario Principal Investigator: Dr. Amrita Roy, Department of Family Medicine, Queen's University.

Researchers at Queen's University in partnership with community aim to better understand and more effectively address perinatal mental health in urban Indigenous women in southeastern Ontario by conducting this community-based project. Funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), this community-based planning project is a partnership between Queen’s University; Ontario Native Women’s Association Healthy Babies Healthy Children Program (Napanee); Minwaashin Lodge-Indigenous Women's Support Centre (Ottawa); Indigenous Health and Wellness Council (Kingston and area); Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington Public Health; Frontenac, Lennox & Addington Ontario Health Team; Tsi Kanonhkhwatsheríyo Indigenous Interprofessional Primary Care Team; and Kingston Community Health Centres.

Help guide research on mental health for Indigenous peoples during pregnancy and postpartum in Southeastern Ontario! We want to hear from :
1. Indigenous peoples who have lived experience with mental health issues during pregnancy or the postpartum period OR who have family who have lived experience, and who accessed care or live in Southeastern Ontario; or,
2. Care providers, administrators, policy makers, and others who support perinatal mental health of Indigenous peoples, and who work in Southeastern Ontario
