I assessed a new shoulder case, and this is what we did.
After a thorough history and physical exam, we got this client right into the gym. He’s got strength and mobility goals we are considering and want to keep him in the gym while we work on this.
You can see the position of his right arm versus his left when he is overhead. We are working to improve shoulder mobility in order to help improve his shoulder related movements in the gym (mainly pressing).
This barbell assessment became his homework, using a reduced range of motion to encourage external rotation of his left shoulder. We also added in some Ys and Ts.
We will be working to progress his mobility then building his capacity to load this new range. Stay tuned for more!
