Happy Friday! ☀️
Today we will focus on being kind to ourselves.
The biggest culprit to being unkind to our selves are our thoughts. Our thoughts have the biggest impact and we want to shift them to something that is kinder.
If you need some motivation to do just that, give Pink’s song “f**cking perfect” a listen. Vers 2 and pre-chorus2 says the following :
You’re so mean, when you talk.
About yourself, you were wrong.
Change the voices, in your head, make them like you instead.
So complicated, look how we all make it.
Filled with so much hatred, such a tired game. It’s enough, I’ve done all I can think of.
Chased down all my demons, I’ve seen you do the same….”
Take a moment to shift any unhelpful thoughts. Here are some examples if needed:
- this isn’teasy but I can do my best
- I’ve gotten through difficult times before and can get through this.
- Even though I feel worried, I can still have fun.
- I don’t have to be perfect.
- I’m nervous but I can handle it.
- I can choose to be brave.
