U13B Robazza Chiropractic Blue Devils Back in Action After the Holiday Break
The U13B Robazza Chiropractic Blue Devils were back on the ice this weekend after the holiday break, travelling to Sudbury for a two-game series against the U12 Nickel City Cubs.
Game 1
The Devils came out strong in the opener, setting the pace early with consistent offensive pressure. Maki Nychuk opened the scoring, followed by Tucker Webster, who found the net with help from C**t Dubreuil. Grant Szulga added another on a breakaway after a strong rush up the ice, set up by a pass from Kael Lachapelle. C**t Dubreuil capped off the first period with a wraparound goal.
The Cubs pushed back with the lone goal of the second period, but the Devils answered right away. Kael Lachapelle scored on a breakaway, and Quinn Perrier added another to make it a 5–1 win for the Devils.
Game 2
Game 2 was a close contest with both teams trading chances. Tucker Webster opened the scoring with a smooth backhand, but the Cubs responded to tie it up. Grant Szulga answered for the Devils with a quick shot off the faceoff to regain the lead before the Cubs tied the game again late in the first period.
The Cubs took the lead early in the second period, but C**t Dubreuil responded to tie the game once more. Early in the third, Webster put the Devils back on top. The Devils kept the pressure on, and Szulga pushed through traffic to extend the lead. Webster picked up his third of the game as the Devils pulled away. Kael Lachapelle finished the scoring with a breakaway goal off a pass from McKenna Olver, making the final score 7–3.
Hailey Carré was solid between the pipes both games, playing a key role in the Devil’s wins.
The Blue Devils’ next games will be at the John Jennings / Don Collison Tournament, hosted by South Muskoka Minor Hockey Association, January 23–25 in South Muskoka.
