Dear Residents, Families, and Staff,

We are writing to inform you that our home is currently managing a Norovirus outbreak. Our team is actively responding, and we appreciate your cooperation as we work to protect everyone in our care.

About Norovirus- Norovirus is a very contagious gastrointestinal virus that spreads easily in long-term care settings. Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps, and mild fever. While illness is usually short-term, it can be more serious for older adults, making prevention essential.

Visitor Guidelines During the Outbreak To help reduce spread, we kindly ask visitors to follow these precautions:

· Do not visit if you feel unwell or have had vomiting, diarrhea, or fever in the last 48 hours.

· Perform hand hygiene when entering and leaving the home. Handwashing with soap and water is strongly recommended.

· Limit contact with residents other than the person you are visiting.

· Wear any required PPE and follow posted signage or staff instructions.

Our Actions We have implemented enhanced cleaning, monitoring of symptoms, and isolation precautions for affected residents. Staff are following strict IPAC practices to contain the outbreak.

We will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves. Thank you for your understanding and support in keeping our community safe.

"If all your friends jumped off a cliff, would you jump too???" You bet. Especially when that cliff is making fun caricatures of all of us here. This was so much fun to do and our residents just loved seeing the outcome. We hope you like these too.

Hello Family members and friends
Today, February 17th, Northeastern Public Health has declared an Enteric outbreak on level 200 and 300 affecting several residents. We continue to work closely with the health unit to implement outbreak measures and stop the spread of the unknown pathogen.

Please practice good hand hygiene and proper donning/doffing of PPE while in the home. Staff, students, and visitors will wear a mask on the units and any other required PPE if visiting symptomatic residents.
If you are experiencing any infectious symptoms, please do not visit the home. If you are well but have experienced symptoms within the last several days, please wear a mask at all times in the home.
At the moment, current symptoms being experienced are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, it has also been noticed that several residents are experiencing an elevated temperature.
We are doing everything we can to prevent any further spread. Thank you for your diligence in keeping everyone healthy!
