🐾 Remember our Family Day Pet Competition? 🐾

We were so excited to welcome Brittney Robinson, RPN, and her sweet boy, famously featured as "Dr. Tommy", to site to officially pick up his winnings. And yes… he wore the title proudly.

Tommy is a 4½ year old Lab and Hound mix, who was rescued from Advocates for Northern Animals in Kirkland Lake, when he was just over a year old. He is a gentle soul with so much love to give. Whether he is chasing his favourite ball, keeping a close eye on squirrels, or diving into any nearby body of water (just not the bathtub 😉), Tommy brings joy wherever he goes. He is also proudly learning to be the best big brother to his little sister, Parker.

"Dr. Tommy" went home with a cozy BRH branded pet blanket, generously embroidered through a donation from Active 1 Source for Sports, along with Crump Beef Treats, a brand new ball, and Pet Valu spending money to keep him stocked up on his favourite Performatrin chicken and rice food.

A very deserving winner and the perfect reminder that on Family Day, our four legged family members truly are family too. 💙🐶

📢 New Physician Recruitment & Retention Loan Program!
In partnership with the Kirkland and District Community Development Corporation (KDCDC), we have launched a new Physician Recruitment and Retention Loan Program.

This program is designed to support physicians who choose to practise in our communities by helping offset the financial costs of establishing and continuing their practice locally.

We know physician recruitment remains a critical need. This is one step in our ongoing efforts to strengthen access to care close to home, and are grateful for KDCDC's support.

A visit to Emergency can feel overwhelming — especially for young patients. It’s the small moments of reassurance, clear communication, and genuine kindness that help families breathe a little easier.

This Englehart team was recognized for creating a calm and supportive environment, ensuring a child and their parent felt heard, understood, and cared for throughout their time in the department.
