Here we are... and here’s how we got here

Welcome! We are very excited to have you here. We are particularly thrilled about launching our blog and our new Healing Tree Wellness Centre website. We hope that you will be a regular visitor to our site and this page.

As part of our website launch, we wanted to share with you our story of how the centre came to be and why, we believe, it has been welcomed by the many clients that we have had the privilege of working with on a daily basis.

Our Story

We were two moms-to-be; one was looking for new office space and the other was looking to share her space. We loved our individual practices and the work that we were able to accomplish with each person that walked through our doors; we didn’t yet know that we each wanted to do more. We knew we had so much more to offer to the community, but how? Over the next two years, with active toddlers running in the background, we discussed how we came to be the professionals that we were. We talked about what influenced us; what inspired us; and how the work that we did with our clients made us reflect on what made us different from other professionals. We learned that many clients were asking for something more. They were tired of the same old approaches to therapy; they wanted a space that offered them the chance to heal their wounds.

The idea of a centre, a healing centre, was born. But it had to be different. It had to be based in values and principles that reflected our own. If we were going to bring that vision to reality, we wanted to create a space in which to conduct this important work. We therefore needed to find other like-minded professionals that shared in our vision and mission . And we truly believe that we did, and hope to be able to continue doing so for the foreseeable future.

Our Space

Once the idea of a centre, and its guiding beliefs and values, were defined, we were left with finding the right space. We knew we wanted this to be our home away from home, and we wanted everyone else to feel that way too. We explored many different options but none felt right; until, a full year later and much debating, we found the space that was just right. With still-drying paint on the walls, we officially opened our doors on March 9th, 2015.

Today, when you walk through our doors, you walk into a warm and safe space. It was designed and crafted in a way that reflects the grounded and peaceful nature of the work that we do, and filled it with a kind and compassionate team of dedicated and hardworking individuals.

When you work with us, you are doing more than just therapy; you join a community of individuals who were/are tired of “just surviving” and long to thrive in their lives. With our help you can transform your life and the lives of all those around you.

So, join our community as we blog about issues that affect us all, with tips and insights. We will introduce you to issues old and new, that may seem general and basic, but that offer a fresh twist. You may be surprised to find that posts that you may not think are pertinent to you, will provoke and potentially inspire you in your daily life.
