Did You Know?
Deep sleep is when your body repairs, resets, and releases critical growth hormone — essential for physical growth, brain development, immune strength, and emotional balance.

If airway issues like snoring, mouth breathing, or sleep-disordered breathing are interrupting this stage, kids may struggle with learning, focus, behavior, immunity, and development.

👉 Early recognition and intervention matter. Don’t wait — if you notice signs of disrupted sleep, contact The Breathe Institute for a comprehensive airway and sleep evaluation.

The orofacial system isn’t isolated — it’s deeply connected to how we speak, breathe, chew, and even behave. Poor muscle strength & tone or imbalances in the tongue, lips, and cheeks can disrupt the entire system, impacting sleep, bite, airway, and beyond.

👉 Our myofunctional specialists can help uncover the root causes and design a targeted plan to restore functional balance.

The way the tongue moves and rests impacts so much more than you might think.

Its position and function play a powerful role in:
• Airway health
• Oral development
• Swallowing and digestion
• Speech clarity
• Even facial structure

For kids, this can affect growth, sleep, and behavior.
For adults, it can contribute to snoring, jaw tension, and more.

If the tongue isn’t functioning properly, the entire system can be off balance.
Curious if you or your child could benefit from a functional evaluation? We’re here to help!

Where does your tongue rest when you’re not speaking or eating?
It might seem like a small detail, but tongue posture plays a major role in proper facial development, airway health, and long-term wellness.

A high tongue posture (resting gently on the roof of the mouth with light suction) supports ideal jaw growth, proper palate formation, and optimal breathing—especially through the nose.

A low tongue posture, on the other hand, can contribute to a narrow palate, airway issues, and dysfunctional breathing patterns over time.

This is foundational for:
• Facial growth & symmetry
• Proper nasal breathing
• Reducing risk of sleep-disordered breathing
• Oral function and speech

It all starts with rest.
Train the tongue. Support the airway. Guide the growth.
