Feeding your newborn is something you and your baby learn together.

Some days feel easy, others don’t: and that’s completely normal.

No matter where you are in your parenting journey, support and answers are available. I’ve been offering OHIP breast-feeding support for many years and I’m here to help you on your journey. Private-pay home visits are also available.

Common questions parents ask:
• Why does my baby seem sleepy or restless during feeds?
• How can I tell if they’re getting what they need?
• Should feeding ever be painful?
• What does a typical feeding schedule look like?

You don’t have to figure it out on your own. Help is available virtually, by phone, or face-to-face.

You are not doing something wrong: you are learning. And that counts.

A reminder about Lactation Support ....

Thank you so much for your referrals!

Did you know IBCLC means International Board Certified Lactation Consultant? IBCLC's take the long route to obtain this designation. We are required to complete lengthy education, mentoring hours (500-1000 hours) and a mentor to monitor teach and guide us, in addition to 95 hours of extra education.

Unfortunately the term "lactation consultant / LC" is NOT trademarked, literally anyone could call themselves an LC.

This handy infographic was made by a IBCLC - Tory, who some of you may have met - she was a student of mine for 1.5 year.

In the past year we have seen a lot of misinformation online and in person from individuals calling themselves an "LC".

Please read on to understand the difference between the designations, ask your HCP to refer you to an IBCLC and ensure the person you are seeing is up front about their designation and scope of practice and proudly displays their training where is it easy to find/see.

Ask questions! Be aware of who-is-who in your community. Mom groups are often vulnerable targets of misinformation. Sadly but true!

Check out the comment for more infographics!

You wake up and look at the clock… it’s 4:58am. Why is sleep such a struggle at this time of day? Lighter sleep paired with more stamina from sleeping earlier in the night can be a recipe for restless mornings.

See our in-depth 9 minute video on how to address this incredibly frustrating sleep challenge.

Breastfeeding isn’t always easy, and you don’t have to figure it out alone. We try and make the process of getting support, simple.

Postpartum lactation support can help with:

• Painful or sore latch
• Low or oversupply concerns
• Pumping guidance & fl**ge fitting
• Identifying tongue ties or oral/body tension
• Improving feeding efficiency
• Supporting maternal confidence & reducing risk of postpartum mood challenges

Booking is easy and support is personalized to you and your baby.

Many families have extended health benefits that cover consultations.
If you don’t, we can also help you obtain an OHIP referral.

You deserve support that feels calm, informed, and reassuring: not overwhelming.

Learning to breastfeed takes time, and support. 🐛

No matter where you are in your journey exclusively breastfeeding, pumping, combo feeding, or even deciding to wean: having an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) can make a meaningful difference.🦋

Here’s why: 🖊️

• Personalized guidance: every parent and baby are different. An IBCLC helps you find what works for you, not a one-size-fits-all plan. Answers are found in person, with together, not online.
• Problem solving early: latch pain, supply concerns, pumping issues, or slow weight gain can often be improved with skilled support. 👩‍⚕️
• Confidence & reassurance: sometimes you just need to know you’re on the right track and that what you’re experiencing is normal. 📊
• Support through transitions: returning to work, introducing bottles, combo feeding, or gentle weaning: you don’t have to figure it out alone. 🙌

Breastfeeding is learned by both parent and baby. Support isn’t a luxury, it’s part of the process.

You are not alone.
