Now that the crisis in Waterloo is over, I am creating a group to replace this page. Please join me on Don A Mask Now
This is a business page and will be rolled into a business. As soon as I have enough stock I will be selling masks here. I'm sure you don't want to stick around for that.

I would like to add that there is still the possibility that a few people who are local rabid anti-maskers will show up. However there will be no speakers to listen to.

Please note: I am very much in favour of free speech. I am very much against doing things that put others at risk or that make fun of others or belittle others.
Some people have equated being forced to wear a mask to the Holocaust. This is despicable.
Some people who are against wearing masks feel that they are being discriminated against for their choice and use the slogans of the BLM movement. This is also despicable.
If a store can put up a sign that says "no shoes, no shirt, no service," then there is no reason in the world that they cannot deny service as to someone who refuses to wear a mask when there is a sign on the door that tells them they must.
I have a few more bits to share and then I am going to be signing off until tomorrow

This was arrest #5 yesterday.
It seem that the only untouchables so far have been the lawyer and the church minister.
The bowling pins are falling here in Ontario

Many thanks to everyone who has taken the time to call the police, the town council, the BIA.

More to follow.

I would like to let you know that things may have looked quiet beyond our region, but it has been anything but!
Yet another rally organizer was finally arrested yesterday ( Thursday).
This time it was one of the major organizers in Aylmer.
I am seriously going to give OUR Waterloo Regional Police Service some credit here.
Just as it takes a village ... It takes village leaders working together.
I am still hopeful that all of this nonsense will come to an end when the heads of the hydra are chopped off in virtual unison.

N.B.
If somebody who is not wearing a mask tries to get you to move along, they have no rights. The police wear masks.
If they so much as lay a hand upon your sleeve, you can charge them with assault. They cannot make you move along by touching you

Update:
Because of my vulnerability, I had planned to stay home. However, I have changed my mind. I will be attending wearing my mask and a shield carrying a pool noodle in one hand and a cell phone camera in the other. I will also be carrying an electronic r**e whistle.
Four other people will be joining me although we are not going to be a group per se. I have a friend to accompany me personally. The other three will be taken care of the music. They will be busking coincidentally in the same area. We have a tuba and a bagpiper and an off-tune singer. Is there anyone else who would like to do a little busking? You don't need a license we've already checked. Bring your hat, make a buck or two. It's really too bad if people can't hear the speakers

It's time for a very sad update
The BIA was unable to ban the demonstrators from the Waterloo Town Square.
So I have let fly the next Arrow in my Arsenal.
I have alerted diners, restauranteurs and cafe owners on the Food in the Waterloo Region page.
I have also warned residents of the area that they may wish to stay indoors because the pattern has included parades through residential areas.
This really is the best that I can do

"Researchers ... found that people who reported "antisocial traits," such as low levels of empathy and high levels of callousness and risk-taking, were less-likely to comply with Covid-19 prevention measures, such as wearing a mask and social distancing.
"In this case, "antisocial" refers to traits that are typically present in people diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder.... It is characterized by common behaviors such as repeatedly violating the law and exploiting others, and traits such as deceitfulness, impulsivity, aggressiveness, reckless disregard for the safety of self and others and irresponsibility."

Researchers surveyed more than 1,500 adults in Brazil about their personalities and how well they adhered to Covid-19 prevention measures. Their findings point to a few psychological reasons why some people don't wear face masks, maintain social distance and practice hand hygiene.
