We are excited to announce that Branches Co-Director Leslie is returning from maternity leave and is rarin' to teach. Leslie has spent the last year with baby Ronan, born last October, who is now walking, pointing and babbling. Ronan's nicknames include Rony Pony and Rone Bone. We welcome additional silly nickname suggestions!

You can catch up with Leslie at our Monday 7:30pm Slow Flow. Leslie will also be teaching a *BRAND NEW CLASS* on Sundays at 9:45am - we're calling it Stretch & Centre.

(PLEASE NOTE: There is still the 9:30am Slow Flow on Sundays in Sky Studio).

Stretch & Centre blends intentional movement with guided mindfulness to help you feel more grounded and present in your body. The class will begin with a gentle yoga flow to help you find steadiness and ease and will end with a range of meditative practices. No previous yoga or meditation experience is required. This is a supportive class for anyone seeking both a good stretch and mental spaciousness — a chance to soften tension, quiet your mind, and return to yourself.

We're celebrating 2️⃣0️⃣ Years of Friendship! Emma and Leena (two of The Branches' co-directors) met in 2005 at their University of Waterloo residence, Conrad Grebel University College. They bonded over feminism, activism and colourful scarves. Their first shared project was producing and directing a fundraising production of The Va**na Monologues at UW. They both practiced yoga in university, and after completing their yoga teacher training in different places, began to teach at Queen Street Yoga. Leena bought Queen Street Yoga from Meaghan Johnson in 2012, with Emma on board as studio manager, and the rest is history!

We hope this little friendship story encourages you to think of your oldest friend, and give them a call or send them a text to let them know you're thinking about 'em.

💙Our 40-hour Trauma-Informed Yoga Nidra Facilitator training will run from January-April 2026 with Kimberley Luu. We are offering options to join in-person, hybrid or online if you're out of town. ⁠

We made something for you. And it's completely FREE for the next 30 days!

In our new BOD series ❣️Practicing with Your Cycle❣️, shares how to align yoga and strength training with the natural rhythms of your menstrual cycle. Drawing from Maisie Hill’s book Period Power, we’ll use the metaphor of the four inner seasons—Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall—to guide how we move and rest throughout the month.

Some of the included NEW practices:

🌑 Winter (Menstruation)
Gentle, grounding practice for rest and reconnection.

🌱 Spring (Follicular Phase)
Awaken strength and energy as you return to movement with curiosity.

☀️ Summer (Ovulation)
Playful, expressive movement to enjoy your peak energy and vitality.

🍂 Fall (Luteal Phase)
Steady, supportive practice to slow down and turn inward with care.

🫀We think this approach is a helpful way to tune into what you need at different phases of your cycle, and practice in relation to it.
