Thinking about adding colored or spooky contacts to your Halloween costume? While they may look fun, buying costume lenses from beauty shops, online retailers, or costume stores can be dangerous. ⚠️ These lenses are often not fitted properly and can cause serious eye damage.

👉 Your costume should be scary, but your eye health shouldn’t be!

This Thanksgiving, we’re reminded just how much our eyes allow us to experience and enjoy. 🧡

- They connect us with the people we love.
- They let us soak in the beauty of fall colors.
- They help us learn, grow, and experience everyday life.

Your eyes do so much for you—take a moment to say “thank you” by caring for them. A routine eye exam is one of the best ways to keep them healthy for years to come.

Book your exam today and keep your eyes as thankful as your heart this season.

🍁 Cooler weather, cozy sweaters… and sometimes dry eyes.

As furnaces kick on and the air gets drier, your eyes may not have the moisture they need to stay comfortable. That can lead to irritation, redness, or watery eyes.

The good news? You don’t have to live with it—we have treatment options to bring you relief.

Book your fall eye exam today and let’s make sure your eyes stay clear and comfortable this season.

👓 Ever wonder what all those numbers on your glasses prescription actually mean? Let’s decode it!

📄 OD & OS
These stand for your right (OD) and left (OS) eye. They’re Latin terms: oculus dexter (right eye) and oculus sinister (left eye).

🔢 SPH (Sphere)
This shows whether you’re nearsighted (-) or farsighted (+), and how strong the correction needs to be.

➕➖ CYL (Cylinder)
This indicates astigmatism—how irregular the curve of your cornea is. If there’s no number here, you likely don’t have astigmatism!

📐 Axis
Paired with CYL, the axis tells us where the astigmatism is located on your eye, measured in degrees (1 to 180).

👀 ADD
This is the extra magnifying power for reading or multifocal lenses, often used for patients over 40.

🔍 PD (Pupillary Distance)
This isn’t always printed on the Rx, but it’s key! PD measures the distance between your pupils so your lenses are centered just right.

A prescription is more than just numbers—it’s a custom plan for your clearest, most comfortable vision. Want help understanding yours or think it’s time for an update?

📅 Book an appointment with us today! We’ll walk you through every detail and make sure your eyes are getting exactly what they need.

Did you know kids should have their first eye exam at 6 months old? 👁️

Early eye exams help catch vision issues before they impact development, learning, or coordination. After that, we recommend a check-up at age 3, then before starting school—and regularly after that!

Book your child’s exam today and give their eyes a bright start. 🧒

🏊‍♂️ Splash smart this summer! Here are a few poolside do’s and don’ts to keep your eyes healthy and happy:

✅ Do wear swim goggles to protect your eyes from chlorine and bacteria.
✅ Do rinse your eyes with clean water after swimming.
✅ Do wear UV-blocking sunglasses and a hat when lounging poolside.

🚫 Don’t swim with contact lenses—they can trap harmful microbes and cause infections.
🚫 Don’t rub your eyes after swimming—chlorine can irritate and dry them out.
🚫 Don’t forget to stay hydrated—good for your whole body, including your eyes!

Keep your eyes feeling fresh all summer long! 😎
