Today was full of laughter, creativity, and spooky spirit as our amazing clients and staff dressed up in some clever costumes!

Our Tagge St. location clients channeled their inner ghost hunters in a lively Ghostbusters game. Meanwhile, our fabulous staff turned up the nostalgia dressed as the Spice Girls.

To top it off, everyone enjoyed some creepy (but delicious) eyeball pudding cups.

It was heartwarming to see everyone’s personalities shine through their costumes, and the joy was absolutely contagious. A huge thank you to all who participated and helped make this day so spooktacular!

Traverse would like to wish everyone a very happy and safe Halloween! 🎃

Today is World Stroke Day🧠

We wish to continue to raise awareness about stroke - a leading cause of death and disability worldwide. Every second counts when it comes to recognizing the signs and taking action.

A stroke occurs when blood flow to part of the brain is interrupted, either by a blockage (ischemic stroke) or a rupture (hemorrhagic stroke). This deprives brain cells of oxygen and nutrients, causing a person to pass within minutes.

Stroke can happen to anyone, at any age. But with education, prevention, and quick response, lives can be saved and outcomes improved.

You have to act FAST:
-Facial drooping
-Arm (or leg) weakness
-Speech difficulties
-Time to call emergency services.

Let’s spread the word, support survivors, and honour those affected.

We have once again teamed up with Jett Psychological Services to offer another Care to Share workshop.

This round, we’ll focus on: The Invisible Load - Understanding and Easing Caregiver Fatigue.

Being a caregiver is a profound act of love - but it often comes with an invisible weight. The emotional, mental, and physical toll can quietly build until it becomes overwhelming.

Whether you're a caregiver, know someone who is, or simply want to understand more - this event is for you.

Let’s come together to support those who give so much of themselves. 💝

🧼✨ Glo-Germ Testing in Action!

All of our sites recently took part in a hands-on Glo-Germ testing session to reinforce the importance of proper hand hygiene. Using special lotion that simulates germs, staff were able to see just how easily germs can linger buy using a UV light.

This fun and educational activity helps us stay vigilant about cleanliness and safety, especially in shared workspaces. Great job to everyone who participated and showed their commitment to keeping our environment healthy! 💪👏

🌟Happy Diwali! ✨
As the Festival of Lights brightens homes and hearts across the world, we celebrate the spirit of new beginnings, prosperity, and togetherness. May this Diwali bring joy, success, and sparkle to your life.

Did you know:
- “Diwali" comes from the Sanskrit word Deepavali, meaning row of lights.
- Diwali spans five days, each with its own rituals - starting with Dhanteras and ending with Bhai Dooj.
- Small oil lamps (diyas) are lit to symbolize the victory of light over darkness.

We wish all who celebrate a safe, joyful, and luminous Diwali!

There is no excuse for abuse!

Today is Purple Thursday, a powerful moment in October’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month to show solidarity with survivors and advocate for change. Wearing purple is more than a color - it’s a symbol of courage, resilience, and hope.💜

Domestic violence affects millions of people across all backgrounds. It’s not just physical - it can be emotional, psychological, financial, and even invisible. One of the lesser known but devastating consequences of abuse is traumatic brain injury (TBI).

We wish to raise awareness not only about the existence of domestic violence but also about its long-term effects, like brain injuries - that can impact survivors for years.

Many survivors suffer head trauma from repeated blows, strangulation, or violent shaking. These injuries often go undiagnosed, leaving victims/survivors to cope with symptoms solo.

Let’s use today to:
• Support survivors with compassion and understanding
• Educate ourselves and others about the signs of abuse and brain trauma
• Advocate for trauma-informed care and resources
• Remind victims/survivors: You are not alone. You are seen. You are believed.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, please reach out to the many local support services or hotlines available.

Today is World Mental Health Day! 💚

We want to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to our incredible community partners: CMHA Waterloo Wellington, Stonehenge Therapeutic Community, House of Friendship and all the other local organizations who provide vital support to our clients.

Many of the individuals we serve are navigating not only the challenges of brain injury, but also mental health and addiction issues. These organizations are essential allies in helping them access the care, compassion, and resources they need.

Thank you for the work you do - today and every day and if you are struggling with mental health, please know that you are not alone.

Reach out to someone you trust, speak to a professional, or contact a support service. Your well-being matters, and help is always available. 💚
