We are proud to share that our hard work and advocacy is paying off!

For the first time, ABI is included in the new Waterloo Region Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan.

This is an important step forward in raising awareness and ensuring the needs of those affected by ABI are recognized and supported in our community.

We previously shared that a Mama Goose had decided our Opportunity Centre garden beds were the perfect place to also grow her babies...and theyโ€™ve finally hatched! ๐Ÿฃ๐Ÿ’›

Weโ€™re hopeful weโ€™ll be able to reclaim our gardens again soon, but for now, this very protective mama is keeping everyone at a distance and looking after her little ones. ๐Ÿ˜„

On April 27th, there was a Primary Care Action Team Round 2 funding announcement with MPP Mike Harris at Community Healthcaring KW, alongside local mayors and community partners.

Community Healthcaring Kitchener-Waterloo, Woolwich Community Health Centre, and their partners received $6 million to connect thousands of Waterloo Region residents with a family doctor or primary care team.

This investment strengthens teamโ€‘based primary care and improves access for our community.

Congratulations to all partners on this important achievement!

On May 5th there will be a Healing of the Seven Generationsโ€™ Walk where we will come together to honour, remember, and stand in solidarity with Murdered & Missing Indigenous People.

This walk is a time for remembrance, healing, and community: uplifting the voices of Indigenous families and acknowledging lives that must never be forgotten.

All are welcome to walk with intention, respect, and love.

๐Ÿงก We walk for those who canโ€™t.
๐Ÿงก We remember their names.
๐Ÿงก We stand for healing across generations.
