As 2025 comes to a close, we at Promyse Home Care are grateful for the opportunity to support seniors and families across Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, and surrounding communities.

This year, we worked with Mr. Patel, who lives with dementia in a retirement home. Simple moments like sharing a cup of tea, listening to his favorite music, and reminiscing about his life made a big difference in his day-to-day happiness. Seeing him smile and engage reminded us why care built on patience, compassion, and connection matters so much.

As we welcome 2026, we look forward to helping more seniors feel safe, supported, and connected, whether at home or in a retirement community.

❤️ Promyse Home Care — a better life together.
Wishing you a joyful, healthy, and meaningful New Year!

Type 2 Diabetes affects about half of Canadians over 65, and every senior’s needs are different. Effective management goes beyond medication — it requires a holistic, personalized approach.

Key strategies seniors and caregivers can focus on include:
🥗 Nutritious diet – fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins; limit sugary drinks, refined carbs, processed meats, and deep-fried foods.
💧 Hydration – water supports overall health, aids digestion, and helps prevent blood sugar spikes.
🏃♂️ Daily movement – even low-impact activities like walking, stretching, or light strength training improve glucose control, mobility, and heart health. Avoid long periods of sitting.
💊 Medication management – take medications as prescribed. Our Medication Review & Management service ensures seniors get the right medications at the right times.
🩺 Monitoring health metrics – track blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol regularly. Assistance with glucose monitoring can reduce stress and improve accuracy.
🦶 Foot care – inspect feet daily, moisturize, and wear proper footwear. Persistent sores can indicate complications and require timely attention.

At Promyse Home Care, our Nurse Case Management and At-Home Diabetes Care services provide seniors with education, support, and guidance tailored to their health needs. We work with families to create customized care plans that empower seniors to live safely, stay independent, and maintain quality of life.
