Mental Health Awareness -To End Stigma

Mental Health Awareness -To End Stigma Stigma affects 20% of Canadian society. Every 40 seconds a person with mental illness dies by suicide.

This page was created to help end the stigma, which shadows those of us who live with mental health issues. People are naturally afraid of something they do not understand. Everyone deals with fear differently... Some of us are proactive- teaching ourselves about the things that frighten us. Our anxiety decreases when we become knowledgeable about the once unknown; allowing clearer heads to prevail. This is when we become aware, once aware of something for even a moment we are no longer able to dismiss, ignore or deny the fact that it exists. Mental illness is something many are fearful of due to lack of knowledge- that is the entire reason for this page. To help those who are willing to get the facts and increase their knowledge- which ... Increases Awareness- decreasing stigma.
