We’ve all heard it before: reduce salt to stay healthy. But is salt truly the bad guy?
The reality is that not all salt is the same. Highly processed table salt—the kind commonly found in packaged foods—loses its natural minerals and often contains additives. This is the type of salt to limit.
On the other hand, mineral-rich options like Himalayan pink salt and sea salt tell a different story. These varieties provide trace minerals such as magnesium, potassium, and calcium, which are vital for overall health. Sodium itself is essential for nerve and muscle function, hydration, electrolyte balance, and even adrenal health—especially if you’re dealing with chronic stress or fatigue.
Rather than eliminating salt completely, *prioritize quality over quantity*. Opt for natural, mineral-rich salts and steer clear of overly processed, sodium-laden foods.
