A skin tag is a small, soft, benign (non-cancerous) growth that typically hangs off the skin by a thin stalk. They are usually flesh-colored or slightly darker and can appear on various parts of the body, particularly in areas where the skin folds or rubs against itself, such as the neck, armpits, groin, eyelids, and under the breasts.
Key Facts about Skin Tags:
1. Harmless: Skin tags are not dangerous and don’t typically cause pain or discomfort unless they become irritated by rubbing against clothing or jewelry.
2. Common in Adults: They are more common in middle-aged adults, and people who are overweight, pregnant, or have diabetes are more likely to develop them.
3. No Known Cause: The exact cause of skin tags is unclear, but factors like friction, genetics, and hormonal changes (especially during pregnancy) may contribute to their development.
4. Easily Removed: Skin tags can be removed for cosmetic reasons. Electrolysis one of the best methods to remove skin tags.
5. Not Contagious: Skin tags are not contagious, and they don’t spread from one person to another. Call us @ 519 954 4040 to book your spot
