Kitimat General Hospital Foundation Raises Over $220,000 at 2025 Gala
Kitimat, BC – September 23, 2025 – The Kitimat General Hospital Foundation (KGHF) is thrilled to announce the incredible success of our 2025 Fundraising Gala, which took place last night. Thanks to the generosity of our community, sponsors, and supporters, we raised an astounding $220,300 in support of vital healthcare projects for the Kitimat General Hospital.
We were honored to once again partner with LNG Canada as our Title Sponsor, whose continued commitment to healthcare in our community inspires us year after year. Their steadfast support makes events like this possible and ensures we can continue working towards better patient care and improved facilities. “The Kitimat General Hospital Foundation’s Annual Gala is a powerful example of what a community can achieve when we come together with purpose and compassion. The Foundation’s dedication to supporting local healthcare, funding critical equipment, improving facilities, and ensuring that people in Kitimat receive care close to home is inspiring and important work. LNG Canada is proud to support their cause, recognizing that these efforts don’t just save travel time; they save lives and strengthen the fabric of our community.” – Morganne von Schleinitz, Social Performance & Local Content Lead
This year’s Gala also held a very special meaning, as we were honored to celebrate the evening with the family of our late director, Barbara Campbell, and to remember and recognize her remarkable dedication to the Foundation. It was a privilege to honor her in such a beautiful way, surrounded by community,
friends, and family.
We extend heartfelt thanks to all local businesses who not only attended the Gala but also contributed generously through sponsorships, donations, and our highly anticipated auction. The auction was a tremendous success—outshining even our 2023 Gala auction—and we are deeply grateful to the many businesses who donate year after year to make this fundraiser such a highlight to our event.
We are equally grateful to the many individuals who joined us, demonstrating the remarkable generosity and community spirit that define the Haisla Nation and Kitimat. Your attendance, donations, and encouragement fuel our mission and make an extraordinary difference in the lives of patients and their families.
The evening was filled with energy and fun, with our Heads & Tails 50/50 game sparking plenty of excitement and laughter among guests. This interactive tradition has quickly become a highlight of our Gala, and we are grateful to everyone who joined in to support our cause. “This year’s Gala truly reflected the strength of our community,” said Laurel D’Andrea, KGHF President. “We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the continued support of LNG Canada, local businesses, and every individual who made this evening unforgettable. Together, we are building a stronger future for healthcare in our community.”
We also acknowledge with gratitude that these events would not be possible without the guidance and support of our parent foundation, the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. Their ongoing partnership strengthens our work and ensures we can continue delivering meaningful impact for our hospital.
The Kitimat General Hospital Foundation looks forward to continuing its work in supporting essential equipment, patient care initiatives, and community wellness. Last night’s success proves what is possible when a community comes together with generosity and heart.
