“What if they make fun of me”
“What if I don’t know the right answer”
“What if no one likes me”
So much unnecessary suffering happens in our mind.
I just signed up my 14 year old daughter for this workshop at the Well, and I know she will need a lot of coaxing to get there, but it’s going to be worth it.
As a social worker, I’ve helped teens cope with anxiety for years, and my goal is always to help them enjoy their lives. Life is too short to be miserable to live in constant fear, but many teens and adults suffer through life instead of enjoying it. Your life is precious!
Having offered individual counselling as well as group counselling, I’ve noticed the most effective way to help teens cope with anxiety is through group workshops.
I know it’s intimidating because anxiety doesn’t like groups of people, but if you can walk through that door, I promise you will feel safe immediately. You won’t regret pushing yourself to be there, same way that we push ourselves to go to the gym, we always feel better. Once you realize that everybody has the same worries, that lonely feeling disappears and your anxiety melts away. Realizing that those thoughts can’t actually hurt you is
FREEDOM!
Book it, you’re worth it! And today is the last day to get the discount!
At the Well we clearly care about your physical well-being, but we care about a lot more than that. Which is why we are so excited to have Eve de Macar lead her Introduction to Mindfulness for Stress and Anxiety workshop.
The aim of this workshop is to share knowledge about the workings of our bodies, minds and hearts to foster better mental health.
We will explore the following aspects:
- What is a stress response and how can I recognise it?
- What is the difference between stress and anxiety?
- How to develop a lifestyle that fosters stress management.
- What strategies can I have in my toolbox to manage stress and anxiety?
Specifically your day will include guided mindfulness meditation and restorative yoga practices as well as educational material to become an expert of your mental health.
