It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I must announce the passing of our owner and creator last Monday evening. As one of my closest friends, Joan Blood was by far the best boss and business partner I could have ever asked for. She believed in me and always pushed for me to be my best and try new things. Joan was a firm believer that being disabled did not make one less worthy or less capable. She had so so many great stories of her life, and taught me so many new skills and ways of doing things. Joan was the epitamy of everything I want to be when I grow up. She was stable, while still being adventurous. Wise while understanding there was so much left to learn. And she loved SO fiercely. She loved this businesss and loved sewing even more. She loved her children, her friends, and her friends' children. And she just loved life and she fought right until the end.
A service celebrating Joan's incredible life will be held Saturday June 1st at the Lacombe Legion from 1- 4pm.
After the service, I will begin the process of dismantling the business social account. I will also be creating a memorial account dedicated to celebrating her art and love of creation.
