It can be up to 60 cm (23 inches) in length. It spans from the front of the pelvis, across the front of the thigh to the inside of the tibia below the knee.

It can flex, abduct and laterally rotate the hip joint. It can also flex the knee.

The “Lizard Stretch” is a great way to target hip flexion and extension, which in turn can help reduce strain on your low back.
