Thank you to everyone for your sweet messages and well wishes! We’ve been soaking up all the snuggles with Baby Tilly and adjusting to life as parents.

I’m officially back to the clinic with limited hours! My availability is live on our Jane App booking system through the end of April. I’ll be expanding and adjusting the shift times as I figure out what works best for our family right now. Thanks for your patience with the limited time slots. Please feel free to add yourself to my waitlist if you don’t see a day/time that works; there may be cancellations and I may be able to add hours in as well!

Enjoy your weekend!

In health,

Dr. Karly, ND

BCND MEMBER HIGHLIGHT 🤩🤩
Dr. Karly McMaster, Naturopathic Physician believes that in order to achieve optimal health you must treat the root cause of disease and the whole person.
We are incredibly complex and unique beings that can't be reduced to a mere symptom to be solved by a pill. So much of our health depends on not only our physical body, but also our mental and emotional states.
In creating a patient-centered approach to healthcare, naturopathic medicine helps to restore balance within the whole person. This balance can be achieved by removing obstacles, teaching healthy lifestyle habits, and using natural interventions. This way we don't focus on disease-care, but truly healthcare.
I find myself continuously more curious and excited about the power of this profession, and I love practicing in my hometown of South Delta.

This is a new fav in our home and I just love how easy it is to cook meals in a crockpot 🙌🏼

✨ Big Announcement ✨

Hi everyone! It’s been a while but I have some exciting news to share!!

My business partner, Adrienne Johnson (RCC), and I are opening a new integrative health clinic in Tsawwassen called Waves Health Collective. We will be transitioning to our new clinic in the Northgate building in May after finishing some renovations.

This also means I’ll be leaving the Collaborative Wellness office space at the end of April. As many of you might know, this was the clinic where I began my practice and I’m sad to leave the whole team that has supported me there from the beginning. I did majority of my preceptoring hours with Dr Lisa and am grateful to have had her clinical guidance and wisdom. Thank you for the support you’ve given me over the past 5 years! I’ll miss all the wonderful practitioners and office manager at CW!

We would love for you to go check out our new clinic instagram .delta where we’ll be posting more updates about our renovation progress and clinic journey!

If you’re a patient and seeing this, I’ll be sending an email in the coming days updating you on the transition to the new clinic.

Thank you everyone for your continued support in this exciting new chapter!

Today on the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, I will be wearing an orange shirt and taking a moment of silence at 2:15pm to reflect and remember those who survived residential schools and those who did not come home. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Although this is only the beginning of my journey in the hope to advance reconciliation, I commit to learning more about the land in which I live and work and spending time to educate myself on the true history of Canada. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you are looking for resources, I recommend reading the 94 Calls to Action from the National Truth and Reconciliation Commission as well as watching the following documentaries on Youtube about residential school survivors and their experiences. I highly recommend them: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Stolen Children | Residential Survivors Speak Out⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Canada’s Dark Secret⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How will you be supporting reconciliation? I encourage you to join me on this journey. 🧡⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

First off, let me preface this by saying that I LOVE talking to people about how amazing menstrual cups are. I made the switch about 6 years ago, and now can't imagine using anything else! Keep reading to learn more about why I highly recommend trying a menstrual cup.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A menstrual cup is a reusable period product, typically made from flexible silicone or rubber, that's inserted into the va**na to catch menstrual fluid. Generally, cups can hold much more compared to a tampon or pad and depending on your flow, you may only need to empty it every 12 hours. Not only is it an extremely convenient option, but it's also more eco-friendly! When cared for properly, menstrual cups can last for up to 10 years, which over time saves a lot of money!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are several different brands of menstrual cups, and all have slightly different designs/sizes. You may need to try a few cups before you find the best fit for you. It can also be an adjustment learning the best insertion/removal mechanism and correct placement for you but be patient, you'll get it eventually. When inserted and positioned correctly, you shouldn't feel the cup at all!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you have an IUD, you will have to be more careful when removing the cup. If the suction isn't broken adequately before being removed, you can displace your IUD.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Consider making the switch! And if you have any questions about using a menstrual cup, don’t hesitate to reach out!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Beyond pumpkin spice lattes and sweater weather, autumn is the perfect time to take a moment to breathe, to reflect on the year and to focus on yourself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

About me

Everything about medicine, and how the human body works so intricately to keep our systems in balance, fascinates me. Especially knowing that our bodies have the innate ability to heal and rebalance themselves. I've learned this firsthand after being diagnosed with Celiac Disease and beginning my journey to health. There is no "cure" for Celiac Disease, however, it can be controlled solely by diet. This was how my love for biochemistry and a natural approach to medicine began.

I find myself continuously more curious in understanding the "how" and "why" behind symptoms, and let my background in biochemistry and the current available research guide my treatment plans. I believe that in order to achieve optimal health you must treat the root cause of disease and the whole person.
