This is heartbreaking! So lets use this as a reminder for all those good people out there who wouldn't hesitate to give a hand when they see someone in trouble. Don't forget that you are probably entering a hazardous situation and even if you have the qualifications to help others you will be unable to do so if you are injured yourself or worse...Always put your own safety first when at the scene of an accident and don't ever turn your back on a hazard, such as oncoming traffic. I can not specify what the details of this awful accident were but I can hope that we all will take the time to recognize the possible dangers in emergency situations before we go into action. Sending peace and condolences to this family.

A woman is dead after a multi-vehicle crash on the Coquihalla Highway Sunday, according to the RCMP.

Well a good reminder to all of us on the importance of having an AED on worksites and in rec centers. Another life was saved recently in a local rec center due to the quick response of team mates and the availability of an AED. Great job, everyone involved and we wish the player a speedy recovery. You never know who is going to suffer a heart attack and being prepared is always the greatest defence against possible tragedy! The greatest gift we have at the end of the day is being here next to our loved ones. Have a healthy week everyone and make sure you know where the first aid supplies and equipment, such as AED's, are located at your local arena's.

Yesterdays Level 1 class was wildly successful. Not every day that you get a class that can make you laugh that much while still doing awesome chest compressions. What a competent group of guys. Happy to say that was the last class I had to do under supervision. So here we go 2013, teaching has commenced ;) Allie is at CARE Institute completing her co-teaches as we speak so best of luck to her, not that she needs it. We have been able to grow as a team and have added some amazingly valuable members to our team. We at CVFA are eternally grateful. What a great year already. Nothing like a few bumps in the road to help you catch some air ;) Ha ha! We are ready for the ride and hope you come along with us. Cheers

Happy New Year from the crew of CVFA everyone. We wish you a year of health, safety, love, success, and joy! We feel so blessed to go into 2013 as a First Aid Instruction Agency as well as providers of various forms of OFA. Thank you all for the constant support and love. This is the victorious look of a woman who has just won a war against bolsters, fuzzy blankets, and Velcro. I'm not even joking. Trying to maneuver new Velcro around all those fuzzy blankets is like brushing your teeth with an Oreo in your mouth :) Touché Allison!

Spine board, collars, O2, regulators, bandage, tape, AED's........oh this is what we dream about at night. Our brains are permeated by First Aid and the tools of the trade.
