Currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Trinity Western University, Melissa works from an Emotion-Focused Therapy lens, believing that healing begins in the small moments of safety, recognition, and connection. She offers a non-judgmental, affirming space where clients can explore life’s challenges and move toward greater self-compassion and self-acceptance.

Melissa welcomes individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences, creating a safe and respectful space for all.

“May you honour

the part of you,
who in the most hopeless moment,
asked for help.

The part of you,
who in the darkest time,
decided to create.

The part of you,
who in the loneliest hour,
offered yourself enough safety,
to risk belonging
for authentic expression

and connection.”

“for all the unknowns
you may find in this landscape,
may you also find
flowers that turn to the sun as they grow,
rivers that open as they learn where to go,
oceans at home in both stillness and flow,
and beautiful stories
that welcome you
to be a part of them
even
as
they
still
unfold.

may you find
evidence of what has already taken root,
traces of what is preparing to bloom,
and little reminders wherever you can find them, that sing to you:

it is not too late for you.”

Meet ✨ Candace Stock ✨, one of our Post-Graduate Clinical Fellows here at Shoreline Counselling.

Candace’s path to becoming a therapist has been rich with learning, deep compassion, and personal growth. For nearly a decade, she’s worked as a doula, walking alongside women and families through some of life’s most transformative and vulnerable seasons. This work shapes how she shows up in the therapy room - attuned, steady, and committed to holding space with care and presence.

Candace offers support to individuals from all walks of life, with a special passion for the perinatal period—helping clients navigate infertility, loss, pregnancy, birth trauma, postpartum mood disorders, shifting identities, and relationship changes.

Her work is grounded in a psychodynamic and trauma-informed foundation, drawing from AEDP, interpersonal neurobiology, and systems theory, all through a person-centered and feminist lens. At the heart of Candace’s approach is a deep belief that everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, and valued.

As a Clinical Fellow, Candace works under the supervision of approved clinical supervisors who bring fresh insight, deep empathy, and evidence-based approaches. She offers a sliding scale of $80–$120/hr + GST.

Please note that sessions with Fellows who do not yet have their Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) designation are not eligible for insurance reimbursement.

‘“Hope” is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without words
And never stops - at all

And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm

I’ve heard it in the chillest land
And on the strangest Sea
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.’

“Hope” is the things with feathers - Emily Dickinson
