This blog by Laura Abraham revisits a topic many parents quietly carry but do not always name. Concern for a child’s wellbeing is a natural part of parenting, yet there are times when that worry begins to affect confidence, rest, and the ability to feel present in everyday family life. This piece offers a moment to reflect on how anxiety can show up in parenting and why recognizing it matters.

Whole body care means recognizing that wellbeing is supported through many different kinds of care, not just one. Mind, body, and emotional health are all connected, and often the most sustainable support comes from combining different practices in ways that fit your needs, energy, and budget.

Options such as counselling, massage therapy, osteopathy, and yoga or movement classes can each play a role in helping you feel more balanced and supported. Some days that may also look like stretching at home, taking a walk, journaling, or meeting a friend for coffee.

Whole body care does not need to happen all at once. Small, consistent choices across different areas of life can create meaningful change over time.

Play is often a child’s most natural way of expressing thoughts, feelings, and experiences that may be difficult to put into words. Through play, children can communicate, explore, and process what they are experiencing in an environment that feels safe and supportive.

In this blog, Amy Bobb introduces play therapy and shares how this approach creates space for children to engage in therapy through one of the ways they know best. The blog offers a closer look at why play can be an important part of supporting emotional wellbeing and development.

The clock changes, but your body still needs time to adjust. A shift in sleep can affect energy, focus, mood, and patience more than we sometimes realize.

If you feel slower, more tired, or a little off over the next few days, give yourself some extra care. Keep your evenings calm, get outside in natural light, move your body gently, and allow for a little more flexibility in your pace.

Small adjustments can make the transition easier, and it is okay if your body takes a little time to catch up.

Whole body care is about recognizing that your wellbeing is shaped by more than one kind of support. Caring for your mind, body, and emotional health often works best when different practices come together in a way that fits your life and your budget.
Talk therapy can help you process stress, relationships, grief, and daily challenges, while massage therapy supports muscle recovery, tension relief, and nervous system regulation. Osteopathy can help address physical discomfort, alignment, and movement patterns that affect how you feel each day.

Yoga and movement classes create space to strengthen the body, calm the mind, and reconnect with your breathing. Even simple options such as stretching at home, sharing coffee with a friend, taking a walk, journaling, or trading a shoulder massage with a partner can support the same goal of helping you feel more balanced and cared for.

Whole body care does not need to happen all at once, but small consistent choices across different areas of health can have a meaningful impact over time.

Our Story

Many people wander through life feeling stunted, as if they are biding time rather than truly living each moment. Above all, the most common complaint we hear from our clients is that they feel stuck. Stuck in anger, frustration, stress, grief or sadness, in fear, depression or anxiety. Some are stuck in unhealthy relationships or unhealthy patterns of relating to others. For some the feeling of being stuck is new and uncomfortable, for others it has been a lifetime. This can be the result of our life experiences, our past hurts, and the pressure of day to day stressors, leaving a sense of dissatisfaction, irritability, difficulty in relationships and the feeling of being out of control. ThriveLife Counselling & Wellness is a collective of highly skilled clinicians with a shared vision and passion for promoting growth and wellness for the clients we serve. Visit our website to learn more about our counsellors and their areas of specialized practice.
