I don’t have a photo from the day I first learned Jikiden Reiki in 2013, but around that time I remember picking up the phone and asking questions to two different Reiki teachers. One of them introduced herself as a Reiki “Master.”
That’s when I realized there was something different between 靈氣 and レイキ — both read as Reiki, but not the same.
Since Reiki was born in Japan, I wanted to learn it in the Japanese way.
Being born and raised in Japan, Jikiden Reiki feels very natural to me — just my personal preference.
Both Western Reiki and Jikiden Reiki are beautifully practiced around the world. 💗
Remembering with gratitude Chiyoko Yamaguchi (1921–2003) 💕.
Though I never met her, I am deeply thankful for her dedication, which continues to inspire me.

🌿 The ture meaning of "Itadakimasu" 🙏
**“Itadaku” means ‘to receive’ or ‘to be given,’ humbly in respect to the giver” in Japanese.
I was so touched to find a little piece of Japan in an unexpected place! ❣️
In a small town in northern B.C., Canada, I visited a Japanese restaurant and, for the first time in a long while, I truly felt from the heart “This is absolutely delicious!”
To be honest, I’ve always thought I wasn’t very particular about food or taste. But maybe I simply hadn’t been moved by most of the meals I’ve had lately, especially in North America, where food, though good, often feels impersonal and lacks that deep sense of care.
But then — Fukasaku‼️
Every dish carried the heart and soul of the chef, as well as the care of the fisherman who caught the fish, the person who foraged from the mountains, and the one who made the salt, etc. Every detail, even the hospitality, expressed the spirit of “Itadakimasu.” 🙏
On the omakase menu, the names of those involved in creating each dish were listed honoring everyone.
The chef is Japanese, and the non-Japanese waiter was more than just staff. He worked like a true apprentice. Together, they quietly uphold Japanese values behind the scenes.🙏
It’s far from Vancouver and not a place I can visit easily again, but here — I rediscovered the true joy of food.❣️
Including the deep spiritual satisfaction, I felt so good.
I left feeling full — heart, body, and soul.🙏
Thank you, Fukasaku❤️

Dear Jikiden Reiki family,
One of our fellow Jikiden Reiki Shihan, Gisela Stewart, and her family are in need of support. 🙏
I’ve never met her in person, but from the beginning of my Reiki journey, I’ve followed her on Facebook—reading her articles, watching her videos, and learning from her. She has been my "senpai" in the online world.
Sadly, her home was recently destroyed by fire.
If you're able to offer support—whether big or small—it would mean a great deal during this incredibly difficult time. Your kindness would be deeply appreciated.
It also refers to:
🌿Japanese style
🌿Traditional Japanese
🌸 和の心 wa no kokoro :
- The spirit of harmony
- The Japanese spirit of quiet harmony
In Reiki, this spirit of 和 (wa)—of harmony and natural balance—is at the heart of the practice.
It reminds us to return to stillness, to connect, and to live in peaceful awareness with ourselves and the world around us.✨️🙏

The word " Reiki " 靈氣 has been around for thousands of years in Japan and China.
Jikiden Reiki is Reiki as it was originally taught in Japan.
As a Jikiden Reiki teacher, I make a strong effort to keep practice and teaching as faithful as possible to the original methods taught by Chiyoko Yamaguchi.
The founder of Reiki technique, Usui Mikao passed down his teachings to Chijuro Hayashi, one of the 20 original teachers of Reiki. Chiyoko Yamaguchi, founder of the Jikiden Reiki Institute, learned Reiki directly from Mr. Hayashi and practiced Reiki for over 65 years. Jikiden Reiki Seminars are taught in the original tradition passed down from Usui Sensei to Hayashi Sensei to Chiyoko Sensei.
In Jikiden Reiki, we don't work with set hand positions, but we focus treatment on the areas where there are accumulations of toxins. It is not just relaxation or spiritual growth. Reiki facilitates the connection between the mind, body and spirit, creating a sense of overall wellness in the body.
When you learn Jikiden Reiki, you can use it in your life every day to help yourself and those around you. It can make such a difference in your life and your loved ones. Reiki balances body, mind and spirit through light, gentle, non-intrusive touch.
Reiki therapy is beneficial not only for those who are in poor health to recover from their conditions but also for healthy people to maintain good health. Reiki works for psychological sides of health as well.
The word "Jikiden" means directly handed down without alteration. Jikiden Reiki is closely aligned with the Reiki Gokai (Precepts) which authored by Mikao Usui for Health and Happiness.
I am from Japan and studied with a great Japanese Reiki senior teacher and founder of Jikiden Reiki Japan, Mr. Tadao Yamaguchi.
I am a registered Shihan teacher with Jikiden Reiki.
