There are 4 main types of acne 2 non-inflammatory and 2 inflammatory.

Non-inflammatory acne:
• Blackheads and whiteheads
• Both are extractable and respond best to salicylic acid.
• Salicylic acid works by clearing out pores, which can also make them appear smaller.

Inflammatory acne:
• Papules
• These are not extractable trying to pop them can make them worse, spread bacteria, and even break tiny capillaries.
• Best approach: leave them alone, apply ice to reduce redness, and use benzoyl peroxide to kill the bacteria. Spot treat and step away from the mirror!
• Pustules
• These can sometimes be extracted, but only gently and by a professional.
• Forcing them can cause more damage, as they are often deep and painful.

Prevention tip:
A consistent skincare routine with proper exfoliation at home, plus monthly facials, can help prevent these breakouts.
