Meet our Langley practitioners!

This is Dr. Philip Lin, R. TCM. P. M.Sc.
Philip graduated from Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China, and has a master’s degree in internal medicine of Chinese medicine. Dr. Lin specializes in Traditional Chinese Medicine and gynecological intractable diseases. Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that our body has the innate abilities to regenerate and heal. However, over time through aging and strain, blockages and repetitive injuries can prevent your body from effectively regenerating.

Dr. Lin can help to open up the blockages, and reduce strain to stop pain and restore the natural function of your body with extensive experience in dematology. He has treated skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, acne, neurodermatitis, etc. As an expert on herbal treatments, he has knowledge on Chinese medicines both to be taken orally, or to be applied topically.

Meet our Langley practitioners! This is Dr. Kai Wang, R. TCM. P.

Kai is an enthusiastic and compassionate BC Registered Acupuncturist and TCM Practitioner with a deep passion for helping his patients find relief from their ailments. He has been practicing acupuncture since a young age, inspired by his father and grandfather’s extensive knowledge and dedication to Traditional Chinese Medicine. With his expertise in acupuncture, Kai is dedicated to helping his patients achieve optimal health and a pain-free life.

Kai’s skillful application of acupuncture has the goal of alleviating pain and managing chronic conditions such as insomnia and digestive system ailments. Meet our Langley practitioners! This is Dr. Michael Chung, R. TCM. P. Ph.D.

Dr. Michael Chung received his B.Sc. in Pharmacy from Taipei Medical University in Taiwan, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Tianjin TCM University in China. As a student of Dr. Wei-Chieh Young, world renowned master of acupuncture & TCM, Michael has inherited a unique style of acupuncture called Tung’s Extraordinary Acupuncture System (TEAS). He has studied with Dr. Young since 1990, and is one of the renowned doctor’s few long-term adherents. Over the last 25+ years, he has not only used TEAS to great effect when treating patients, but has also taught TEAS in countries all over the world, including Taiwan, Malaysia, the U.S., the U.K., Germany, and Canada.

Dr. Chung is passionate about advancing the professional education and practice of TCM in Canada, and his expertise and professional standing are well-recognized by industry authorities. Aside from being an instrumental part of Tzu Chi Clinic since its very beginning, he also founded the Canadian arm of the Tzu Chi International Medical Association (TIMA) in 2012, and has acted as its Convener since its inception. Going further back to 2001, he was appointed the Chief Examiner and Academic Consultant of the College of TCM Practitioners and Acupuncturists (CTCMA), the profession’s licensing authority in British Columbia. Since then, he has played a significant role in establishing the TCM Licensing Examinations and the Mandatory Safety Courses for Herbology practice, as well as the development of the Core Competencies for TCM Practice in Canada. He became an elected member of the CTCMA Board of Directors in January 2007, and later chaired the board in 2011. Between 2007-2010, he also served as an appointed member of the Expert Advisory Committee of Health Canada’s Natural Health Products Directorate (NHPD).

Meet our Langley practitioners! This is Dr. Allen Shih, R. TCM. P.

As a distinguished lecturer at the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Vancouver Central College, Allen has been practicing medicine in Metro Vancouver for more than a decade. He has done in-depth research in traumatology, acupuncture and internal medicine, and inherits the diagnosis of pulse method and tongue diagnosis by famous teachers.

Allen Shih has in-depth research & clinical focus of practice in traumatology. He has been personally trained by the two great masters of traumatology for many years, and he has obtained the legendary “painless structural adjustment technique”. This technique adjusts the body's natural structure similar to chiropractic care. However, unlike the sudden, often painful chiropractic techniques, Allen's Structural Reduction Therapy (SRT) gently manipulates the body comfortably into place to achieve balance.
