Is PRP Safe While Breastfeeding? Here’s What You Need to Know.
We recently received a thoughtful question from one of our clients: If I’m breastfeeding, is it safe to try PRP rejuvenation treatments?
PRP, or Platelet-Rich Plasma, is a regenerative treatment created entirely from your own blood. The blood is spun in a centrifuge to concentrate natural growth factors, which are then reintroduced into the skin to stimulate collagen, repair tissue, and support rejuvenation.
Because PRP uses your body’s own biological material and does not involve additional medications, it is generally considered a treatment that may be appropriate for individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding. This is one reason many patients explore PRP when other treatments like neuromodulators or dermal fillers are typically avoided during this time.
However, every patient is unique. A thorough medical history and health review are always required to determine whether PRP is the right option for you.
If you’re looking for a natural, regenerative approach to skin rejuvenation while breastfeeding, PRP may be worth discussing with your provider.
