Donna Perry Consulting

Donna Perry is a mental performance specialist consulting in sport, fitness and life. As a Master of Science in Human Movement and Performance from Western Washington University, with an emphasis in Sport Psychology she consults elite, amateur and professional athletes in most sports. Donna’s approach to mental training follows a multimodal approach which involves assessing the clients internal thought process and their environment, and then choosing the most appropriate psychological strategies to aid in empowering their journey through sport. This usually includes the following:
1. Pretreatment phase (assess skills and deficits)
2. Treatment rationale phase (provide reasons for using certain strategies to enhance skills and work through deficits)
3. Skill acquisition (training in muscular relaxation, cognitive restructuring, and self-instruction)
4. Skill rehearsal (programming to provide consistent application and reinforcement of mental skills)

The above approach is utilized to facilitate the development of the mental skills necessary to experience sport and life pursuits with enjoyment and success. She works mainly in the areas of goal setting, anxiety/stress management, dealing effectively with pressure, visualization and relaxation strategies, mental performance routines and time management.
