Stories from mine to yours

b-ê :: well was created when i begin to look inside of myself and realized that there are essential differences amongst having a career as an artist, being a creative person, and making art. I realized, and finally accepted that my personality does not suit a modern art career, despite my passion of the process of art making, the philosophy of art history and methodology of the practice. Most of all, i was not happy because i couldn’t be truthful to myself, and that i was always struggling with the me inside of me.

offers relaxation massage, acupressure and yoga therapy services with a focus on stress relief.

In 2011, i graduated with a Masters of Fine Arts Degree from Concordia University. My thesis project is an inflatable wearable suit that encapsulates the torso. It was a public intervention that asked strangers in public places to wear and inflate the suit with a foot pump. It takes a good 10-15 odd minutes. People did it, embraced it, enjoyed or indifference to the process, all for the curiosity to experience the relationship between pleasure and pressure. The impact of this relationship between pleasure and pressure, is much alike to an embrace where gentle pressure is applied to the heart center, stomach and the guts - the nervous system. What the act of an embrace delivers is the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system and stimulate the gut to send signals to the brain to secrets hormones, such as dopamine, serotonin, relaxin, etc. accordingly, so the person or animals or any living creatures, including trees and plants, can attain a calm and comforting sensation - that this sensations of being content and sufficient are not effects of healing, just as being the opposite is not a disease, but a dis-ease, a sensation that the body and mind have the innate power to bring is back to a momentary balance. The intention is to pose the multitude of art and life and healing - When does it becomes art? Where does the public begins and continues? Does ‘healing’ only applies to the sick or do we all have some healing to do?

It was an incredible project/experience that summarized my artistic creation and career, brought me closer to my cultural root, and has led me to connect both creativity and holistic healing traditions. It is this passion about the relationship between pleasure and pressure that allowed me to discover my fascination about the relationship between the interior and exterior ecosystem where a healthy boundary and intimacy to oneself can be found, and that brings us to the birth b-é :: well - the present me and my practices of Acupressure and Yoga Therapy.
