Aliveness isn't the opposite of rest.
It is a pathway into regulation.

Our newest meditation is now live on YouTube 🌿

This one is a little longer than our previous practice, a 17-minute guided experience exploring aliveness as a tool for nervous system regulation.

It pairs beautifully with our recent IG themes around safety, rest, and reconnecting with what makes you feel gently awake inside.

Confidence isn’t what’s seen on the outside.

It’s built from within.

Not personality.
Not volume.

But the nervous system’s capacity to stay present with discomfort… to hold your ground… to move forward even when your voice shakes.

Capacity can be built 🤍

The Spring Equinox is a threshold 🌞

Light and dark meet in equal measure.
The earth begins to soften.
And something in us quietly asks to begin again.

Join us for our first event of 2026! A FREE Spring Equinox Virtual Somatic Circle.

🗓 March 20
⏰ 7 to 9 pm MST
🎟 Free registration via Eventbrite

Together we will gently mark the turning of the season through:
✨ Guided somatic meditation
✨ Creative visual journalling
✨ Thoughtful integration practices to anchor what is emerging.

This is a space to slow down.
To listen inward.
To notice what feels ready for light.

A small list of simple supplies will be emailed the week before the event, along with your private link to join.

Rooted in science, guided by nature.

Try this when your heart feels pulled in too many directions.

Aliveness isn’t about having more energy.
It’s about being able to feel yourself again, right where you are.

No fixing.
No pushing.
Just contact.

Save this for later.
More about aliveness is on the blog. Link in bio.

🤍 Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at NMW 🤍

Valentine’s Day traces back to Saint Valentine and mid-winter traditions that honoured connection and the slow return of light.

Before it became more commercial, it was about devotion and care. A quiet reminder, in the heart of winter, that warmth is something we create with and for one another.

Today can be simple.

A slower breath before you respond.
A longer hug.
A message that says, “I’m thinking of you.”

And if this day feels tender or complicated, that belongs too.

Love is not just grand gestures. It is safety in the body. It is being seen. It is allowing yourself to need and to receive.

Love can be romantic.
It can also be friendship, family, community, or self-compassion.

However you meet today, let it be steady ❤️

Our 2026 retreats are officially live 🌲

These gatherings are intentionally small, therapist-led, and rooted in nervous system care. They are spaces to regulate, reflect, process, and reconnect without pressure to perform or “fix” anything.

Some are quiet seasonal pauses.
Some are deeper therapeutic containers.

All are grounded in safety, intention, and meaningful integration.

Retreats marked with * are therapeutic and claimable under most extended health benefit plans.

Early registration is open with 20% off using code EARLYBIRD20
Valid until February 28 at midnight.

Rooted in science, guided by nature ✨
We would love to welcome you.

This is a simple place to start.
Especially when rest isn’t working.

No fixing.
No calming.
No deep breathing required.

Bring one hand to your chest or your stomach.
Notice the weight of it.

Don’t change your breath.
Just notice where it moves.

Then name one sensation.
Warm.
Cool.
Tight.
Soft.

That’s it.

Your nervous system just registered contact.
That’s aliveness showing up quietly.
Even on tired days.

Save this for later
Stay awhile if this met you gently

Rest takes practice, not perfection.

If rest still feels unfamiliar at the end of this month, that isn’t a failure. For many people, rest is layered work shaped by lived experience, nervous system patterns, and parts that learned to stay busy, alert, or helpful.

When you slow down and an inner voice reacts, that voice is usually trying to protect something. In somatic therapy and parts work, we meet those protectors with curiosity, not confrontation.

This has been the heart of January.
The Paradox of Rest.
How the body can crave stillness and still feel uneasy with it.
How rest becomes more possible as safety, understanding, and compassion develop.

In February, we’ll bring this same lens into aliveness and self compassion.
Because when we speak gently to the parts that brace or hustle, the nervous system starts to settle, and rest stops feeling like a threat.

If rest softened even a little this month, that’s movement.
Your body is learning at a pace that makes sense.
