Family Counselling Centres Psychological services (Counselling & Assessments) for children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Family Counselling Centres offers an unconditional, respectful, gentle, and safe space to explore experiences and facilitate connections to inner strengths and creativity for healing. Our clinicians are trained specifically in the treatment of children, adolescents, and families. We are unique in that our clinicians put a strong emphasis on connections within the family systems, both past and present, not only the individual. We recognize that traditional office based therapy is not for everyone, and offer many alternative methods of treatment. More specifically, our clinicians specialize in Animal-Assisted Therapy {canine in office}, Play Therapy {with fully equipped play-spaces to engage your child in the process, Sandplay Therapy, EMDR {trauma-based therapy}, and Equine-Assisted Therapy {horse... and a multitude of other farm friends} facilitated by Hooves of Hope Ranch east of Millet, AB. Our clinicians are able to provide both direct billing to many third party insurers as well as a sliding scale for those without extended health coverage. Select offices also work alongside community partnerships to provide subsidized counselling programs for low income households, as well as contracts with *Employee Assistance Programs.

On October 6th, from 7-9 PM join Amanda Montey (they/them) and their special guest, Ian Brown (they/them) for their presentation “Unmasking: Embracing ADHD, Autism, and Queerness” with ADHD Edmonton.

The presentation is completely free, and will be hosted online and in-person (10115 88 Avenue Northwest Edmonton, AB T6E 2R8). Ian and Amanda will be speaking from their lived experience as neurodivergent and q***r humans, information from Amanda’s clinical experience, and from the extant literature. This presentation is geared toward the general public, but may benefit practitioners new to these topics.

Our Story

Family Counselling Centres offers therapeutic space that provides a safe, warm, and trusting environment. We are unique in that clinicians put a strong emphasis on connections within the family systems, both past and present, rather than just the individual. The therapists are trained specifically in the treatment of children, adolescents, and families. We also recognize that traditional office based therapy is not for everyone, so we offer alternative methods of treatment-- some which are unique to Family Counseling Centres. More specifically, our clinicians specialize in animal assisted therapy, sand play therapy, play therapy, EMDR (trauma-based therapy), and equine (horse) assisted therapy.
