I love this quote by Bill Watterson—it's a gentle reminder that it's okay to not be okay. Letting ourselves sit with whatever we're feeling, even a bad mood, without judgment, is actually healthy. And honestly… cold, grey winter days are the perfect excuse to curl up under a cozy blanket with a good book or movie.

January is 'Walk Your Dog' Month. You don’t need a dog to benefit—stepping outside, moving your body, and getting some fresh air can be a simple yet powerful way to support your mental health. This week, see if you can take a short walk and notice how your mood or energy shifts afterward.

As we settle back into structure and routine, this is your gentle reminder to return to your word of the year.

You chose it for a reason.
Not as a rule to follow, but as an anchor to come back to when life feels busy, loud, or rushed. How might your word support you this week?

There’s no need to be perfect—just intentional. One word. One moment at a time.

As we get ready to ring in the new year ✨, many of us start thinking about New Year’s resolutions. This year, I invite you to try something different — choosing ONE WORD.

One word that can help guide you through the year ahead. Maybe it’s MINDFULNESS, SELF-COMPASSION, or PAUSE. Setting an intention can be a gentler, more meaningful way to begin the new year.

As we sit in this in-between stretch of the year, take a moment to reflect. Ask yourself: What am I proud of this year? How have I grown emotionally? What belief or habit no longer matches the person I’m becoming? Pausing to look back can help you move forward with clarity and intention. If you’re looking for support as you enter the new year, I’m currently accepting appointments. Click the link in my bio to connect or call my office to book an appointment.

When things start to feel overwhelming, taking a self-compassion break is a powerful way to offer ourselves support. This practice was developed by Dr. Kristin Neff, a renowned expert in self-compassion. It involves three core components: mindfulness, common humanity, and self-kindness.

To take a self-compassion break, begin by bringing the difficult situation to mind. Notice if you can actually feel the stress or emotional discomfort in your body. Then gently say to yourself:

"This is a moment of overwhelm.
We all struggle in our lives.
May I be kind to myself.
May I be patient."

Notice how you feel before and after taking this pause.and if you’d like support exploring these practices further, consider booking an appointment with me.

The holidays can be a stressful time of year. Try this simple micro-rest to give your nervous system a quick breather: close your eyes, bring your attention to your breath, and take three slow, steady inhales and exhales, noticing your chest rise and fall. If it feels comfortable, add a few gentle neck circles to release tension.
