Erin the A.T.

Erin the A.T. If you view movement as a valuable and non-negotiable part of life then Athletic Therapy is for you! My practice is located in Lethbridge, Alberta.

Hello, I am Erin, your friendly neighborhood Athletic Therapist. I have been a Certified Athletic Therapist since 2017, and a Fascial Stretch Therapy Provider since 2019. I enjoy playing in the dirt in my backyard vegetable garden, and will take any opportunity to go hiking, snowboarding, Olympic weightlifting or rock climbing. I am curious about trying new active endeavors, and currently that consideration is around learning kayaking or fly fishing. Fun facts about me:
I am half Australian
Toby is my rescue cat. He will gladly welcome you at your appointments
I appreciate a good pun

You’ll spot me on the sidelines, always ready to sprint onto the pitch the second someone needs help.

Here’s what else I’m up to…
🩻 Assessing spinal injuries, concussions, dislocations, and fractures.
🩸 Stopping bleeding. Yes, where there’s Rugby, there’s usually blood. From faucet noses to pressure cuts and scrapes that just won’t quit.
👀 Keeping an eye on every ruck, maul, and scrum for any hint of foul play.
💧 Carrying on-the-go electrolytes for cramping legs.
🩹 Taping up separated shoulders and wrapping receivers’ legs with electrical tape when needed.

It’s fast-paced, unpredictable, and exactly where I love to be.

If you ever play at Lethbridge Rugby Club, then there’s a good chance you’ll see me on the sidelines, and I’m prepped and ready for whatever the game throws my way.

It’s more than just taping ankles and cheering from the sidelines, this AT is there for every dive, spike, and “oops” moment in between.

You’ll also find me…
💥 Teaching players how to protect their backs from all that repetitive serving and hitting.
⛑️ Treating shock from dislocated fingers and kneecaps (yes, it happens more than you’d think!).
🧠 Assessing athletes concussed from those flying volleyballs.
🏋️ Helping growing athletes understand jumpers knee, shin splints, and cranky tendons.
🩹 Taping a lot of ankles and thumbs.
💪 Keeping shoulders and knees strong, we’re all about preventing tears before they start.

Being courtside isn’t just about quick fixes (although sometimes needed!) it's about helping athletes stay strong, safe, and confident in their game.

✨Testimonial time

"Over the course of several decades (yes, I'm old), I've been assisted, in my injury rehabilitations, by many professionals in the field of physiotherapy. I've had good and bad assistance, but I've never experienced the high level of rehab therapy provided to me by Erin the AT.

Erin thoroughly assessed my injury and taught me effective solutions. She also provided me with a sweet system of online tracking, both for my exercises and my symptoms. I highly recommend Erin the AT."

✨Testimonial time

“I started seeing Erin for a hip issue that is causing a lot of pain throughout both of my legs and causing mobility issues.

She is amazing at what she does and knows her stuff! She’s very professional and I trust her completely with my recovery. I am already seeing results after only a few visits.” ☺️

Here is what this person had to say about their Athletic Therapy experience.👇

“I have worked with many athletic trainers and Erin really stands out! She is incredibly knowledgeable and will explain the importance of everything she is doing and all the exercises she gives you. Her attention to detail and focus on your goals leads to trust and motivation to keep at your recovery.

My favourite thing Erin says is that even though she’d love to see you again she hopes she won’t have to because that means you healed and well on your way!”

🙏Thanks for the candid review! So glad to learn from my clients every day.

Though helmets protect the outside skull from becoming broken, the brain can still bounce around inside, like an apple inside a jar.

It doesn’t have to be a hit to the head that pauses your brain’s normal capacity.

Neural connections can get “unplugged” from the brain bouncing against the skull and this takes time and energy to reconnect (while the brain still tries to orchestrate the rest of the body on autopilot 24/7, I might add!)

This can mean changes in…
🤕Mood
🤓Memory
⚖️Balance and Coordination
🤔Decision making
😵‍💫Tolerance to blood pressure and heart rate increases

🧠 Sept 21-27 is concussion awareness week. Help me spread the word by sharing this post! .livefully
