Erin the A.T.

Erin the A.T. If you view movement as a valuable and non-negotiable part of life then Athletic Therapy is for you! My practice is located in Lethbridge, Alberta.

Hello, I am Erin, your friendly neighborhood Athletic Therapist. I have been a Certified Athletic Therapist since 2017, and a Fascial Stretch Therapy Provider since 2019. I enjoy playing in the dirt in my backyard vegetable garden, and will take any opportunity to go hiking, snowboarding, Olympic weightlifting or rock climbing. I am curious about trying new active endeavors, and currently that consideration is around learning kayaking or fly fishing. Fun facts about me:
I am half Australian
Toby is my rescue cat. He will gladly welcome you at your appointments
I appreciate a good pun

Would a session will help you discover where you DO and DON'T need better flexibility?

Or maybe... it would help you find out how to maintain the movement you already have with tools specific to your life?

A big sigh✨ for those stretches that feel SO good. 😊

🙏Thanks again to my client for the kind review! So glad to make an impact every day.

Have you asked yourself, is stretch therapy for me? Spoiler, I bet it is!

🖐️ Q: I have eczema and can’t tolerate massage oils or skin contact, is this still for me?
A: Yes! Stretch therapy offers similar relaxation and mobility benefits without irritating your skin.

🖐️ Q: Do I have to undress for my session?
A: Nope! Come in comfy clothes you can move in, no need to change or strip down.

🖐️ Q: I already see a chiropractor or massage therapist. Can I add this in?
A: Absolutely. Stretch therapy pairs perfectly with other treatments to give your body an ✨extra boost✨.

🖐️ Q: I’m training for (or just finished 👏) a big competition. Would this help with recovery?
A: 100%! It’s a great way to release tension, restore mobility, and help your body reset.

🖐️ Q: I’m feeling really stressed, will this help me relax?
A: Yes. Stretch therapy supports your nervous system, helping your body shift from stress mode to rest mode.

🖐️ Q: I’m in too much pain to move on my own, can you still help?
A: Definitely. I’ll guide you through gentle assisted stretches so you can safely ease back into movement and self-care.

Want to get stretchy? 🧘 Book online from the link in my bio.

Get your "charlie-horses" checked by your Athletic Therapist right from the sideline. And don't foam roll or massage those deep tissue injuries!

This is the most important part...
🔑You need to check if your specific health insurance policy included Athletic Therapists when it was purchased.🚧

📌The below insurance companies have recognized that Athletic Therapists are a type of practitioner offering services to people who need it.

Remember, everyone's health insurance policy is different, with different practitioners on it that are covered - you need to see if Athletic Therapists are one of those practitioners on your policy, or ask for it to be added. (as a clinic, we can't see or access this information on your behalf unfortunately!)

👇Head to my blog if you want the template letter to send to your insurance company to ask to have Athletic Therapy added. ✨All it takes is one person asking and you have access to another practitioner with your benefits.

Sure, an AT can help with injuries, but that’s only part of what really goes on behind the bench.

You’ll also find me…
💬 Chatting with arena staff + referees about ambulances and AEDs (just in case!)
🏒 Keeping an eye out for those pucks that don’t hit a pad…bruises hidden deep beneath the tissue surface don't need to turn into career ending injuries if dealt with early.
⛸ Showing athletes alternate lacing tricks + making donut pads for lace bite on those feet.
🩹 Assessing injuries under all that hockey gear.
🦯 Equipped with crutches when someone takes a hip pointer on the boards but insists they’re “fine.”
🚑 Prepping spinal injuries on ice for ambulance arrival, and concussions right at the rink.
🤕 Gently breaking the news that stretching a pulled groin or hip flexor won’t fix it.
💧 Checking hydration after every period (because performance starts with recovery).
🪛 Ready with a honing stone, sock tape, and screwdriver, because yes, there will likely be some quick equipment fix needs too.

It’s all in a day’s work and I wouldn't have it any other way. A wonderful mix of medical, mechanical, and mental support, plus a little chaos management on ice. 😉

You'll find me on the bench this season with the ladies and the fellas.

You’ll spot me on the sidelines, always ready to sprint onto the pitch the second someone needs help.

Here’s what else I’m up to…
🩻 Assessing spinal injuries, concussions, dislocations, and fractures.
🩸 Stopping bleeding. Yes, where there’s Rugby, there’s usually blood. From faucet noses to pressure cuts and scrapes that just won’t quit.
👀 Keeping an eye on every ruck, maul, and scrum for any hint of foul play.
💧 Carrying on-the-go electrolytes for cramping legs.
🩹 Taping up separated shoulders and wrapping receivers’ legs with electrical tape when needed.

It’s fast-paced, unpredictable, and exactly where I love to be.

If you ever play at Lethbridge Rugby Club, then there’s a good chance you’ll see me on the sidelines, and I’m prepped and ready for whatever the game throws my way.

It’s more than just taping ankles and cheering from the sidelines, this AT is there for every dive, spike, and “oops” moment in between.

You’ll also find me…
💥 Teaching players how to protect their backs from all that repetitive serving and hitting.
⛑️ Treating shock from dislocated fingers and kneecaps (yes, it happens more than you’d think!).
🧠 Assessing athletes concussed from those flying volleyballs.
🏋️ Helping growing athletes understand jumpers knee, shin splints, and cranky tendons.
🩹 Taping a lot of ankles and thumbs.
💪 Keeping shoulders and knees strong, we’re all about preventing tears before they start.

Being courtside isn’t just about quick fixes (although sometimes needed!) it's about helping athletes stay strong, safe, and confident in their game.

✨Testimonial time

"Over the course of several decades (yes, I'm old), I've been assisted, in my injury rehabilitations, by many professionals in the field of physiotherapy. I've had good and bad assistance, but I've never experienced the high level of rehab therapy provided to me by Erin the AT.

Erin thoroughly assessed my injury and taught me effective solutions. She also provided me with a sweet system of online tracking, both for my exercises and my symptoms. I highly recommend Erin the AT."
