Beautiful and fierce. Today, on Trans Day of Remembrance, we expressly condemn the UCP's use of the NWC to further strip away the rights of Alberta's trans youth to receive life saving medical care. No matter what a government does--it cannot erase transness from our world. Trans people will continue to exist, live, thrive, and outlast every moment of hate and bigotry.
It’s , a day where we mourn and honor the people who have been murdered just for being TGI. Today is also a day where we recognize that, despite threats of violence and discrimination, the trans community still continues to thrive. Trans individuals everywhere are living their fullest, authentically.
As The National Center for LGBTQ Rights puts it:
not only means Trans Day of Remembrance/ Día Trans del Recuerdo, it also means:
Trans Day of Resilience || Día Trans del Resiliencia
Trans Day of Realness || Día Trans del Realidad
Trans Day of Revolution || Día Trans del Revolución

Digital illustration of two people in front of a sunset. On the left is a Latina woman with braids, a pink shirt and jeans with their body wrapped in a trans pride flag. On the right is a fem with red hair, a black shirt that reads, ‘end trans detention,’ and a gray skirt wrapped in a le***an pride flag. In the background there are cempasúchil flowers in honor of those lost. Text reads, ‘Trans Day of Remembrance, Trans Day of Realness, Trans Day of Revolution!’
