Jennifer Morneau is an Osteopathic Manual Therapist and a Canadian Certified Athletic Therapist. Subsequent appointments are usually about an hour.

Jennifer Morneau is an Osteopathic Manual Therapist, a Canadian Certified Athletic Therapist, Alberta Registered Massage Therapist. An osteopathic manual therapy appointment with Accelerate Sports Therapy will include a comprehensive history taking, followed by musculoskeletal and postural assessment, followed by therapeutic techniques such as myofascial and functional mobilization and movements, cranio-sacral therapy, osteo-articular mobilizations, visceral manipulations, and active rehabilitation. Initial Appointments are at least an hour and a half and are focused on searching for the root cause of the patient's complaint, as well as assisting the patient with his/her injury healing process and correction of postural imbalances. Appointments may be longer but are less frequent, and the goal is to help return the patient to his/her work and play as quickly and as safely as possible. Patients range in age from newborns up to adults of any age. With knowledge of ergonomics and functional movements, Jennifer can also evaluate and suggest changes to work stations at both industrial sites and within offices. With First Responder certification and several years experience of on-field and on-ice emergency care, Jennifer can also provide emergency care and management at sporting events.

Just finished 6 days of learning and practice focused on women’s health and endometriosis. Lots to digest. Some beach time for breaks was a nice distraction.

My first week back treating clients was a little bumpier than expected, with some important renovations not completed. I reached out to the lovely Courtney at Elevated Therapy and she offered me a room to treat from for the week. My schedule is full and I’m excited to see old and new clients again! Hoping to be back in my new space by the 18th November. Booking site is operational and I can be reached by email and text. 😊

A short family trip to the Rockies to see the Aspen and Larches and show our exchange student the beauty of Kootenay and Banff National Parks. Return to work will be delayed a bit until I can find my perfect space to continue my practice. Fall seems to to be the perfect time to choose change or for change to choose us. Bear with me as I get my ducks in a row - lot’s going on and it’s been a bit of a bumpy road.

There is nothing like a traumatic event, such as what happened to Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills, to make everyone sit back and reevaluate things in their life. As Athletic Therapists (AT), we train and prepare to deal with such traumatic situations in sports, although hoping we never have to deal with one.

Recently, I was gifted a surprise from the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association. This year marks 25 years that I’ve been a member of CATA. 2022 marked 20 years that I’ve been fully Certified Member - completely my national exams back in June 2002. Hard to believe it’s been that long. And since moving to a clinic based practice for the past several years, I do miss the excitement of the sport and the challenges of quick decision making and side line assessments. And although I have furthered my skills and knowledge with Osteopathy, I’ve always considered myself an Athletic Therapist first. ❤️Shoutout to my colleagues who keep the athletes safe and healthy!
