Dr Erica Van Raalte, RAc, DTCM Her studies include completing a four-month clinical internship in Hanzhou, China’s Zhe Jiang Medical University.

Dr. Erica Van Raalte graduated from Calgary’s Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACATCM) with a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine diploma. She is a Registered Acupuncturist is good standing with the College and Association of Acupuncturists of Alberta (CAAA). Dr. Van Raalte’s schooling began with a Biology undergraduate at the University of Lethbridge. After 3 years, Erica decided to move to Vancouver, BC to begin her studies in Chinese Medicine. There she studied at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, before finishing her studies in Calgary. Additionally, Dr. Van Raalte’s continued education includes study under the guidance of Dr. Li Chun Huang in the field of Auricular Therapy. Dr. Van Raalte believes in treating the cause of illness and pain, rather than simply palliating symptoms. In addition, she believes that one can only attain true health and well being by attending to all aspects of the body, mind and spirit. She uniquely combines all of her skills and life experience with her intuition to treat her patients compassionately and effectively. Dr. Van Raalte’s passions include the treatment of fertility issues and women’s disorders, as well as emotional issues. Acupuncture is embedded in the concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine traces back to approximately 200BCE. It aims to correct imbalances in the flow of qi through anatomical locations under the skin. It promotes general health, relieves pain, and can treat and prevent various disease in the body. Acupuncture involves the insertion of acupuncture needles at specific points on the body to achieve its therapeutic effect. It encourages natural healing, improved mood and energy and overall improved function of affected areas of the body. Acupuncture is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) to be effective in the treatment of a wide variety of medical problems.
