Though it might be tempting to meet people in their ugliness or to seek revenge for wrongdoings in the end, violence creates more violence, hate creates more hate, greed creates more greed, and revenge is never as satisfying as we think it will be.

And a big reason why we seek revenge is because we want justice. We want to be understood and for the people who have done wrong to understand what they’ve done wrong.

But the thing is, you can’t change other people. You can’t make them understand. You can’t make them accountable. And you can wait for them to do better for you to be ok.

But what you can do is show up as yourself, no matter what. Without fear. Without masking. Without apology. You being your amazing, bright, brilliant self is what the world needs more than anything else. đź©·

We are so excited to welcome Talissa to the team!

My name is Talissa Lyons, and I am a registered provisional psychologist supervised by Erin Musick, co-owner of Lethbridge Counselling Services. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Lethbridge and a Master’s of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. My diverse professional background spans various industries, including oil and gas, family law, senior care, and children’s sports, where I’ve worked and volunteered. These varied experiences have refined my ability to connect authentically with people from diverse backgrounds, understanding their unique perspectives and challenges with empathy and openness.

I am interested in supporting clients navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, nutrition-related concerns, grief, loss, relationship dynamics, communication challenges, stress management, life transitions, and trauma.

I aim to create a warm, accepting, and non-judgmental space where clients feel genuinely heard, valued, and encouraged to thrive. I offer a holistic approach to mental health, utilizing person-centred and evidence-based techniques to empower clients to embark on a path of healing and personal growth.

When not supporting clients, I enjoy outdoor adventures with family and friends, baking, crafting, music, organizing, and powerlifting.

Talissa will be offering appointments starting in September!

Hello! My name is Chelzea. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (C.C.C.) with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology.

For over a decade, I have walked alongside individuals to help them find meaning, purpose, and belonging in their life. I truly believe that you are the captain of your life journey, and together we can uncover the path that aligns with your values, goals, and strengths.

As an Indigenous descendant of the Blood Tribe, I have an intimate understanding of Indigenous culture. I feel that my experiences provide a unique perspective in offering a holistic and culturally sensitive experience.

I support adolescents (13+) and adults navigating self-worth, self-esteem, grief and loss, depression, stress, anxiety, parenting, postpartum, communication, relationships, and more.

Therapeutic methods are tailored specifically to you, to help you navigate your unique challenges. I blend approaches from cognitive behavioural therapy, internal family systems, mindfulness, polyvagal theory and acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT), to help you build practical strategies for overcoming challenges.

Trust and transparency are the foundation of our therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and valued. After all, life, and therapy, is a journey, and I’m here to walk that path with you!

Overall, my life philosophy is rooted in the belief that everyone is worthy and deserves to take up space. I understand the deep-seated desire to belong so I aim to create an inclusive environment where you can truly be yourself. What I love most about being a mental health professional is witnessing the growth and enlightenment that clients experience on their journey.

Thank you for taking a moment to get to know me! Please do not hesitate to connect with me for any questions.

Booking Availability: Currently, I offer in-office sessions on Tuesdays (9 am - 4:30 pm) and virtual sessions on Mondays (morning) and Wednesdays (evening).

Billing: I can direct bill through several benefit providers, including Medavie Blue Cross, Canada Life, Green Shield, The Cooperators, and more. Please confirm with your provider that they cover Canadian Certified Counsellors (Provider #11248626).

Hello, Oki, Taanshi! My name is Alannah and I am a registered provisional psychologist being supervised by Erin Musick, one of the owners of LCS. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked for over a decade with children, teens, and families in Saskatchewan, Maryland, and Alberta - helping them navigate some of life's most difficult challenges.

My specialties include increasing parents' confidence and enjoyment in parenting, connecting with at-risk or hard-to-reach youth, guiding families through grief, divorce/separation, and serious illness, and navigating ADHD diagnoses in childhood or adulthood.

I am dedicated to providing a safe therapeutic space for youth and adults who are gender-diverse or exploring their gender identities. Clients often describe their experience with me as informal and relaxed, impactful, and genuine. Perfection is never the goal. We work together to create strategies to move you in the direction you wish to go at your own pace.

My approach to therapy is person-centered, meaning I strive to create a therapeutic environment that feels safe, open, and non-judgmental with YOU as the expert in your own life. I incorporate interventions from Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy, and Somatic Therapies to create a treatment plan that fits you as an individual. With children and youth, play and artistic expression are key tools I use in exploring their strengths and building skills to improve their emotional health. Parents are treated as integral partners in their children's therapy, creating meaningful change that lasts.

Outside of work, I treasure precious time spent with my husband, two young sons, and my 16-year-old dog, Ellamenno. On the weekends I'm often either camping, hiking, bird watching, or (if the weather isn't cooperating) baking/cooking with my family. I LOVE metal music, so if you see me headbanging in my car on the way to the office, be sure to wave hello!

I am accepting new clients as of June 1st, and will offer new appointment times as my client list grows

Ask from a place of curiosity vs. judgement đź©· What choices do I have available to me? What can I do more of? Less of? What do I really want? Am I making this better? Or worse? Are the choices in making aligned with my values? My goals?

Focusing on what we have control over vs. what we don’t feels sooo much better and helps us to plug back into our own power and reminds us how capable we truly are.🩷
