Job Title: Funeral Attendant with Strong Technological Abilities
Are you a compassionate individual with exceptional technological skills seeking a fulfilling career in the funeral service industry? Join our team at Cornerstone Funeral Home, where we're looking for a full time dedicated person to provide compassionate support to families in their time of need.

Responsibilities:
• Utilize technological expertise to operate and maintain audio-visual equipment, sound systems, lighting, and other technical aspects necessary for funeral services.
• Assist funeral directors and staff in arranging and preparing for funeral services, ensuring all technical requirements are met seamlessly.
• Coordinate and oversee the setup of visitation areas, chapels, and facilities for services and ceremonies.
• Provide compassionate and professional support to families and guests during funeral services, assisting with pallbearing, ushering, and procession coordination.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment in facilities, vehicles, and equipment to uphold a dignified atmosphere.

Requirements:
• Strong technological abilities and experience in handling audio-visual equipment, sound systems, Live-streaming/recording and digital video productions.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach in dealing with grieving families and guests.
• Flexibility to work on-call shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Physical capability to transport loved ones of families that call upon us and perform tasks related to funeral service setup.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

At Cornerstone, we understand the significance of commemorating those who have profoundly touched our lives. As we approach this season of remembrance, we invite you to join us for a serene Candlelight Service.

This heartfelt service will be a moment to reflect, share memories, and find solace in the presence of others who understand. Together, we will light candles in honour of those we hold dear, fostering an atmosphere of love, respect, and healing.

Today marks the 28th anniversary of Cornerstone Funeral Home, a place where we've been privileged to serve our community with care and compassion. As we reflect on this milestone, we're reminded of the countless families we've had the honor of assisting during their most challenging moments.

Over the years, we've learned that it's not just about the services we provide but the support, understanding, and empathy we offer to those in need. We are deeply grateful for the trust you've placed in us, allowing us to walk beside you on your journey of remembrance and healing.

We are so very honoured to be nominated alongside L.A. Chefs Catering and Recreation Excellence as a finalist for the business of the year award, in 2023.

Today is World Smile Day! As is well known by now, throughout the world, Harvey Ball, a commercial artist from Worcester, Massachusetts created the smiley face in 1963. That image went on to become the most recognizable symbol of good will and good cheer on the planet.

Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

This day honours the children who never returned home and the survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.

Orange Shirt Day is an Indigenous-led grassroots commemorative day intended to raise awareness of the individual, family and community inter-generational impacts of residential schools, and to promote the concept of “Every Child Matters”. The orange shirt is a symbol of the stripping away of culture, freedom and self-esteem experienced by Indigenous children over generations.

On September 30, we encourage all Canadians to wear orange to honour the thousands of survivors of residential schools.

Our Cornerstone team enjoyed the opportunity to attend the Interfaith Food Bank Annual Charity Dinner and Auction this past Friday evening at the Sandman Signature Hotel and Conference Centre. The Interfaith FoodBank is a provincially registered non-profit society, and nationally registered charitable organization here in Lethbridge. We love supporting this great cause every year that serves to provide food and learning programs for the ever-growing less fortunate in our community.
We all had a fun evening of listening to the music of Dale Ketcheson, participating in fund-raising games, live and silent auctions, enjoying the fabulous food and beverages of Prime Catering then dancing the night away with Trevor Panczak.

The work that Danielle McIntyre and her team do on a daily basis is very important and the needs of our community are only increasing. Thank you to all those that have been, are currently, and will be supporting this valuable organization!
